'Moderate' president Abbas of the Palestinian Authority

This man falls over himself to show his extremist credentials, but western media is determined to paint this man who wrote his Phd thesis that denied the Holocaust, who was in charge of financing the Munich Olympic terrorists and who never stops honouring murderers of innocent israelis, killed in all manner of fiendish ways.

Abbas only recently went to Lebanon and met with Samir Kuntar who killed a 4 year old girl's father in front of her. Kuntar then killed Einat Haran by bashing her head on a rock. As if this wasn't enough, Abbas recently hugged Amna Muna who jeered whilst a 16 year old boy Ofir Rahum who she had enticed romantically was being slowly tortured to death. She received the palestinian's highest 'al Quds' award.

And this Abbas who is in part responsible for the continuing ethnic cleansing of christians from territories under palestinian control, is lauded by the catholic heirarchy that never ceases to condemn Israel. As I've already pointed out, whilst the christian community is thriving in Israel, nowhere in the arab world is this the case. 100,000 copts have been ethnically cleansed from Egypt just this year, a million from Iraq in the last 10 years. And Bethlehem has gone from being 70% christian is now 5-10% christian.

This as much as anything shows the hatred that arabs have for jews. Whilst celebrating those who carry out grisly murders of jews, they do it in the knowledge that western media will ignore this. All that interests the west is when jews build houses in their ancient homelands of Judea and Samaria. When arabs say they want to kill jews, when they glorify those who kill jews, when they say they will do it again, western media is silent as with the Hamas prime minister the other day who was met in Tunisia by a crowd chanting "slaughter the jews".

Islamist activists welcoming Hamas Haniya were heard chanting slogans like: "Kill the Jews, it is our duty", along with anti-Israeli and pro-Palestinian messages.

Another Tack: Good manners and high morals

One would expect that Abbas, feted worldwide as the prince of moderation, would at least wash his hands of murderous Muna.

There sat Palestinian Authority chieftain Mahmoud Abbas in the front pew of the Church of the Nativity, reverently observing the Christmas midnight mass. He appeared so meek – the model of admirable moderation, good manners and high morals.

TV anchors and scribblers worldwide fell for his consummate act and expressed solemn appreciation for the affectation. Critical appraisal was conspicuously absent.

Abbas – the on-and-off and now on-again political ally of Hamas and Islamic Jihad – took great pains to quasi-usurp Christmas from Christendom and impart the impression that Christmas is intrinsically also a Muslim celebration, “a Palestinian holiday” from which bogeymen Jews alone deserve exclusion.

Significantly this aroused no protests – the subjugation of Christians in Muslim societies, and foremost in Bethlehem, notwithstanding.

This supposed Christian-Muslim front comprised the gist of the homily delivered by the Mideast’s most senior Roman Catholic, Patriarch of Jerusalem Fuad al-Tuwal, a Jordanian Arab.

He effusively welcomed Abbas, congratulating him for “his unfaltering efforts to achieve a just peace in the Middle East, a main thrust of which is the creation of a Palestinian State.” The patriarch commiserated with the Palestinians, who “recently turned to the UN in the hope of finding a just solution.”

According to his monologue, “they were asked to reengage in a failed peace process,” which “has left a bitter taste of broken promises and of mistrust.”

And guess who embittered the pitiable Palestinians? Guess who cast a dark, sinister shadow over their Muslim Christmas? Those Jews, of course. Who else?

LIVING UP to the ecclesiastical hype, Abbas wished the worshipers “love and peace” and, presumably in that spirit, proceeded to slam Jewish settlements as “immoral and indefensible.”

“I wish for the Palestinian people that next year will be the year that peace will be implemented in the occupied Palestinian lands,” he said. “We, my brothers, believe in peace and are working to implement peace.”

Had any further elucidation been needed about his concept of peace, Abbas furnished it pre-Christmas when traveling to Ankara to shower affection upon the convicted terrorists deported to Turkey as part of the Gilad Schalit swap.

Outstanding among them was Amna Muna – tangible proof that evil can come in attractive guises. Abbas hugged her warmly and sat down for a chummy chat, not to mention his hefty financial reward.

Muna was actually supposed to be released into Gaza, but refused, citing her secularism as problematic in the Hamas fiefdom. In actual fact, though, she feared retribution.

This insolently unrepentant and most aggressive despot of the women’s prison security wing tortured noncompliant fellow inmates by, among other means, pouring boiling oil and wax on them.

Turkey was understandably her preferred destination. She now plies the school-lecture circuit there, vowing to return to active “combat against the Zionists” and exhorting pupils to become shahids (martyrs).

Muna – for those who forgot – is the fetching Fatah operative who via Internet contact lured 16-year-old Ofir Rahum to a cruel death on January 17, 2001. In a way, her atrocity is even more gruesome than the more common forms of Arab-inspired carnage. She might not have claimed as many lives as some of her compatriots, but what she did was spine-chillingly up-front and personal.

She schemed to get her hands on a Jewish kid, chose her victim with coldblooded deliberation, falsely befriended him and lured him in a premeditated hunting expedition that began long before 20 AK-47 bullets riddled Ofir’s young body.

The homicide was meticulously and maliciously plotted and executed painstakingly over months, in scrupulously calculated phases, to wrest an unsuspecting boy from his protective environment and trick him into a rendezvous with a hail of bullets.

Ofir yearned to make love not war. He embodied the shared Israeli dream of peace and bliss. With stars in his eyes, he was enticed. He wanted to believe the pretty decoy who flirted with him, the sly impostor who posed as “Sally.”

The striking seductress arranged to meet the smitten schoolboy. He traveled from Ashkelon to Jerusalem; she picked him up at the bus stop and drove him away. Eventually her accomplices shot his kneecaps and she, as per her own crowing account, stood there, taunting him and cackling mirthfully as he screamed in pain before being put to death. She still often derisively mimics his last cries.

ONE WOULD expect that Abbas, feted abroad as the prince of moderation, would at least wash his hands of murderous Muna and condemn her unequivocally. Instead, this supposed man of peace has made Muna his Ramallah regime’s poster-child – the object of reverence and compassion, and a model for emulation.

That speaks volumes, because the lionized icon’s underlying moral code inevitably characterizes the collective that sponsors and supports her.

The Turkish get-together wasn’t Abbas’s first public embrace for Muna. It wasn’t inadvertent, nor was it an isolated, inconsequential political gesture. It was preceded by accolades aplenty.

In 2008, for instance, Abbas handpicked five female recipients for the PLO’s highest medal of heroism – the Quds Mark of Honor. All the women he named were then behind Israeli bars.

This was touted as “a humanitarian gesture,” geared to highlight their “sacrifice and suffering as Israel’s captives, to raise their morale and pay tribute to them.”

The five included Ahlam Tamimi, pivotal in the August 9, 2001, atrocity at Jerusalem’s Sbarro Pizzeria. She escorted the suicide bomber to the eatery where he killed 15 persons, including seven children and five members of a single family. Muna, too, starred among Abbas’s designated heroines.

Predictably the international community made no fuss about Abbas’s choices.

Neither did Israel’s own left wing.

Apparently, when chronic peaceniks have nobody to appoint as their interlocutor, they pretend that the hypothetical lesser evil is humanity’s great hope for the greater good.

Yet by paying lavish homage to child-slayers, Abbas endorses terror and escalates Palestinian psychological warfare, which – in order to manipulatively tug at the heartstrings of progressive do-gooders – camouflages mass-murderers as prisoners of conscience, persecuted altruists and vindictively incarcerated political philosophers.

Abbas cunningly postures as Israel’s hapless victim, as a saint on the side of the angels, indeed as a victim of terrorism rather than its devious promoter.

His heart is artlessly in the right place.

He seeks to do the right thing – which he would sincerely do, were it not for those obstructionist Israelis.

Doesn’t Abbas, after all, respectfully promise on every occasion to quell incitement within his latifundia? Seemingly in the enlightened vanguard of the global good-guy brigade, Abbas convinces willingly gullible saps of what they’re anyway predisposed to imbibe. The watching world voluntarily laps up his fabrications and encouragingly promotes the PA figurehead’s deception.

However, the inescapable subtext of glorifying Muna is that her crime is Abbas’s true ideal – his prescription for all Israelis. In a better world, this truth wouldn’t be eclipsed by the sanctimonious chatter of the charming charlatan, seemingly spellbound by Christmas in the Church of the Nativity.

Muna is the benchmark of popular Palestinian intentions toward all Israelis.

That’s why Abbas acclaims her malevolence instead of denouncing it, instead of beating his own breast for sanctioning and commissioning her bloodlust.

Settlements and settlers and 'occupied palestinian land'

It's time to start thinking about terminologies. Jews living in their ancient homelands, are living in the lands of Judea and Samaria. They should not be described as living in an area with the foreign and alien name of 'West Bank'.

Judea and Samaria was universally known as such until western media agencies decided to change the terminology. Call me petty, but we have to understand just why those with an anti-Israel agenda originally worked to change the name the areas were for thousands of years known by. 'Judea and Samaria' was known to christians and jews throughout the world until AP, BBC and Reuters etc got on the job.

The 'Elder of Ziyon' explains how an invented term was by way of media agencies substituted for the authentic terminology. Henceforth anyone using the terms of Judea and Samaria could be labelled 'right wing', as interlopers on arab land (in the 1950's arabs living there hadn't decided that they would now like to be known as ancient and venerable 'palestinians' yet. They still allied themselves with Jordan).

Language is potent. It is used to divest the people indigenous to the Land of Israel, the jews, of their rights. If the West Bank exists then the link with Israel is broken. It is surely under these terms more linked with the 'east' bank, i.e. Jordan.

Although the faux nationalism of so-called 'palestinians' who have flip flopped over their national identity since 1920, might find some conflict in identifying with Jordan at the moment. After all at this moment in time the struggle is to divest the jews of their land, not overthrow a petty dictatorship, albeit one of the most benign in the arab world.

It is surely time for people living in Judea and Samaria not to refer to themselves as 'settlers', living in 'settlements'. The feeling of these terms is of newcomers, of colonists, of people with no claim to the land other than force of arms.
Which of course is rubbish to anyone with a passing knowledge of the jewish people and not eaten up with hate for it.

The jewish communities in Judea and Samaria are villages, towns, and even a city of Ariel. There are no settlers. Those living in Judea and Samaria are inhabitants / villagers / residents of towns.

It's time to reject politically charged terminology that aims to divest jews of their rights as the indigenous inhabitants of their ancient homelands.

The poor kid said he hadn't even posted the cartoon himself, which I believe as no christian in the arab world would be that stupid. Even in the west the media are afraid of antagonising islamists in our own countries for fear of violent results. Moderate muslim voices are rarely heard as they too are intimidated.

Arab countries are busy ethnically cleansing themselves of christians just as it did 80 years ago with jews in arab lands. 1 million in Iraq and now 100,000 Copts have fled from Egypt in the last year.

And silence from the established churches, whose hypocritical leaders never fail to attack Israel, the new jewish scapegoat for all the ills of the middle east.

Egypts economy is plunging into the abyss. What is the priority for the Muslim Brotherhood?

Anyone reading this blog knows exactly that the Muslim Brotherhood is about bringing shariah islam to the world, to establish the caliphate. Western governments fall over themselves coming to the aid of the islamists who are portrayed as 'moderate.' In Libya thanks to Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy, the triumverate of fools, we not only have islamists, but Al Qaidah!

The MB is not made up of fools. They are very media aware and for now at least in Egypt do not wish to appear extreme, at least to western eyes (but read below what they are saying in arabic). In Libya the islamists and al Qaidah have been media shy. They work in the shadows subverting and killing. The Vice journalist who took these photos found himself in a tight situation. Without considering the special case of Libya, it's easy to dissapear even in a run of the mill arab dictatorship.

So what does the Muslim Brotherhood do about reneging on the peace treaty with Israel, something it has promised western countries not to do. Why put it to a referendum. Generations of Egyptians taught to hate jews and Israel can be trusted to vote the way the Muslim Brotherhood wishes them to and vote away Egypt's peace with Israel.

Land is security, that is why arabs have umpteen ways of divesting Israel of it. At one time they promised 'peace'. No longer. Arabs and so-called 'palestinians' only promise war if Israel doesn't give in to their ever increasing demands.

Israel, the outpost of western civilisation in a primitive region falling over itself to install western hating islamist regimes must be encouraged to put its own security first, always. Israel's security is the west's security. Israel's security is the security of moderate muslims to whom the Moslem Brotherhood is just as much anathema as to the rest of us jews and christians.


Let's hope Israel is watching, and updating its plans to retake the Sinai Peninsula when the inevitable happens, that arabs once again start beating the war drums. Israel must never again be duped into giving away strategic land for 'peace'. Israel must offer peace in exchange for peace. Nothing more, nothing less.

We in the west must support Israel, that tiny outpost of western civilisation.

How many times do you hear from western media that the MB wishes to keep the peace with Israel? What is clear is that the Moslem Brotherhood will put the peace treaty with Israel to a referendum, that the Moslem Brotherhood, soon to be the government of Egypt finds itself in no way bound by the Treaty, and that it will take 'legal measures' against it. The referendum is therefore but a fig leaf with the outcome already clear, that the MB will enact legislation to annul the peace treaty. At this stage the Moslem Brotherhood is not talking about war, but that is surely the logical outcome. Israel beware.

Dr. Rashad Bayoumi, deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, told the newspaper «life» of London, published Sunday: «Is the requirement that the government recognize Israel? .. This is not an option at all, whatever the circumstances, we will not recognize Israel at all, they are usurping entity enemy occupied a criminal ».

He stressed that «Brotherhood» «will not recognize the state of Israel under any circumstances», suggesting that the group «had been peace treaty with Israel to a referendum».

Bayoumi stressed that «none of the members of the group will never sit in the future with Israeli» he said, adding: «I will not allow myself to sit down with a criminal .. Israel will not deal with in any way ».

And on a treaty of peace, Bayoumi said: «We will take legal procedures against the peace treaty, is do not oblige me at all, and will show the people his mind».

He explained: «Brotherhood progress respecting international conventions, but we will take legal action against the peace treaty with the Zionist entity .. It is the right of any party to reconsider the treaty, and the Egyptian people did not say where his mind by ».

He added: «peace treaty did not Nbermha and we will take legal action against them respectable, and may offer it to people or the parliament elected in which to express his opinion, that was the kind of prejudice to the freedom and sovereignty of the people».

وشرح: «الإخوان مرحليا يحترمون المواثيق الدولية، ولكن سنتخذ الإجراءات القانونية تجاه معاهدة السلام مع الكيان الصهيوني.. فمن حق أي طرف أن يعيد النظر في المعاهدة، والشعب المصري لم يقل رأيه فيها من قبل».

وأضاف: «معاهدة السلام لم نبرمها وسنتخذ الإجراءات القانونية المحترمة تجاهها، ويجوز أن نعرضها على الشعب أو برلمانه المنتخب لإبداء رأيه فيها، إن كان فيها نوع من المساس بحرية الشعب وسيادته».

Guardian discovers that Moslem Brotherhood offshoot Hamas lacks Christmas cheer

I rubbed my eyes when I read this report in the Guardian.
Hard on the heels of printing a rotten old calumny about Israel supposedly being responsible for the reduction of Christians in the Palestinian Territories, notably in Bethlehem, a Guardian journalist no stranger to demonising Israel herself has managed to do a bit of journalism and discover the truth about the reasons why christians are leaving Gaza.

Christians are leaving Gaza for the same reasons they are leaving Judea and Samaria, Bethlehem (WB), Iraq, Egypt, everywhere in the middle east and muslim world, because of attacks against them, because of intimidation, because of murder, because of confiscation of their lands, their property and their livelihoods. The same thing happened just over half a century with the ethnic cleansing of almost a million jews when arab countries gained their independence.

As with the ancient coptic community, the jews were living all over the middle east for thousands of years before the arabs arrived.

Giving the lie to anti-Israel demonisers such as British Archbishop Rowan Williams
who blame the troubles of Christians on Israel is the fact that the only place in the middle east where christians can worship freely without hindrance or discrimination is in Israel.

Unlike everywhere else in the moslem world the population of christians in Israel is constantly rising. Contrast this with Iraq where almost a million christians have fled in the last 10 years, and Egypt where the the 'democratic' attacks on christians have led to 100,000 Coptic christians leaving Egypt for the west in the last year. With neither police nor army willing to defend the christian community against attack in Egypt, but instead often turning a blind eye or even joining in, the copts see the writing on the wall.

I doubt that Phoebe Greenwood has any intentions to return to Gaza in the near future. The palestinians don't take kindly to reporters who instead of reporting manufactured news from 'Pallywood' actually report the truth about what really happens.


Back to the palestinians and Hamas so beloved of western media and of a number of churches most notably members of the Anglican Church, the Methodists and Quakers. These churches are leaders in using the arab-Israel conflict as a tool with which to stir up hatred against the jewish people and Israel.

The catholic church is not far behind with a number its offshoots working hard to propagandise against the State of Israel (e.g. the vicious anti-Israel propaganda published by P.I.M.E in its 'Asianews' website from within the Vatican).

Pope Benedict himself wasn't above doing a little Israel bashing when he visited Bethlehem, criticising the Israeli security fence but failing to mention that it was erected because to keep out arab suicide bombers who inflicted thousands of deaths and injuries on innocent israelis.

Gaza Christians long for days before Hamas cancelled Christmas

Since the Palestinian Authority left the Gaza Strip, festive celebrations and displays of crucifixes have become taboo

When the Latin patriarch came to Gaza's Holy Family church to celebrate Christmas mass last week, he instructed a full house of Catholic and Orthodox families to pray for reconciliation. As the archbishop, Fouad Twal, stood at the lectern in Gaza City, Fatah and Hamas leaders were meeting in Cairo attempting to mend differences that have divided the Palestinian factions for four years and rendered Gaza a besieged Islamist enclave.

Of the 1.5 million Palestinians now living in the Gaza Strip, fewer than 1,400 are Christian and those who can are leaving. The church hopes reconciliation will bring them back.

There hasn't been a Christmas tree in Gaza City's main square since Hamas pushed the Palestinian Authority out of Gaza in 2007 and Christmas is no longer a public holiday.

Imad Jelda is an Orthodox Christian who runs a youth training centre in Gaza City. With unemployment hovering at 23%, he has seen young Christian men leave to study and work abroad in their droves. "People here do not celebrate Christmas anymore because they are nervous," Jelda said. "The youth in particular have a fear inside themselves."

Karam Qubrsi, 23, and his younger brother Peter, 21, are the eldest sons in one of Gaza's 55 remaining Catholic families. Both wear prominent wooden crucifixes. "Jesus tells me, 'if you can't carry my cross, you don't belong to me,'" Peter explained. It's a demonstration of faith that has caused him some trouble.

He describes being stopped in the street by a Hamas official who told him to remove the cross. "I told him it's not his business and that I wouldn't," Peter said. After being threatened with arrest he was eventually let go, but the incident scared him.

The brightly decorated tree in the Qubrsis' living room sits at odds with the sombre mood. Their sisters Rani, 29, and Mai, 27, left Gaza in 2007 when the 30-year-old manager of Gaza's Bible Society bookstore, where their husbands worked, was shot dead, having been accused by radical elements of proselytising. They now live in Bethlehem.

Their parents are currently in Israel where their mother is receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer. Israel applies strict restrictions to Palestinians hoping to leave the Gaza Strip, meaning the brothers are unable to join them. A quota of 500 applicants will be given permission to enter the West Bank this Christmas but only people younger than 16 and older than 35 will be considered.

"Christmas for us means going to Bethlehem, being with family. This year we'll do nothing," Karam said.

The Qubrsi brothers hold out little hope for Gaza. They agree that life would be better for the Christians here if the Palestinian Authority were to return but they doubt any factional peace would last.

"Many people want the Palestinian Authority to come back just so they can take their revenge," Peter said.

"This is not a Christian environment. There are no good universities, there is no opportunity to work, no apartments to rent and so no way we can get married. We have no future here."

Israel must disband the Temple Mount riot provoking Waqf.

Western countries have for many years been suffering from a guilt complex over their colonial and imperial past. They now have to interminably show fitting atonement for this, and what better than to offer up the jewish state as atonement to the religious bigotry of muslims. The slightest allegation of an israeli misdemeanour gets jumped on by the nations of the world. The members of the UN Security Council usually lead the pack rather than trying to restrain the religious hatred dressed up as identification with a supposedly oppressed palestinian people. Only the US veto prevents Israel from suffering severe UNSC condemnation and sanctions on a regular basis.

Israel will be condemned whatever it does to defend itself. So why then does Israel take islamic feelings into account at all. After all muslims don't even recognise that jews have any rights to Israel, let alone the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Muslim media always refer to the 'alleged temple' when referring to jewish claims to the Temple Mount. Not that jews claim much nowadays, just the right to climb up to the mount and maybe say a prayer or two. But that is not allowed by the muslim Waqf that Israel allowed to hold sway over the Mount even after Israel took it back when defending itself against Jordanian aggression in 1967.

Did Moshe Dayan think Israel would get any thanks for allowing the Waqf to control the area? Did he think they would become any less extreme, and allow jews free access? Did Dayan think the archaeology would be protected? Well none of this has happened. Jews are constantly harrassed and arrested if they even dare to say a prayer in their most holy place. Boulders are regularly thrown down upon the jewish worshippers at the Wetern Wall below, and the Waqf regularly removes/destroys any remains they find that might possibly be of jewish archaeological interest.

The muslims have seven entrances to the Mount and yet the Waqf objects to the jews having even one at the very southern tip of the Mount, the so-called Mughrabi bridge. When it collapsed the Waqf condemned Israel for having undermined it with archaeological digs, and when it was replaced with a temporary bridge the muslim world condemned Israel. And now that the temporary bridge is again in danger of collapse and will be replaced the muslim world with the Waqf at the head, aided and abetted by the UN is busy condemning Israel again.

Israel must think about removing the sectarian Waqf from responsibility for the Temple Mount and take over responsibility itself. Jews and muslims both have a right to pray on the Temple Mount.

Islamic bigotry, intolerance and disrespect for other religions must no longer be allowed.

The Guardian article painted a bleak picture of an “Apartheid wall” and military checkpoints that supposedly have stagnated the city of Bethlehem, located immediately south of Jerusalem.

The writer, Phoebe Greenwood, also details the nearby Jewish communities that are “strangling” the city and quotes a Catholic priest bemoaning the exodus of Christians from the ancient city. Many businesses in the communities employ neighboring Arabs, who are able to travel freely while Jews are not allowed into Bethlehem and other “Apartheid” areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority.

Foreign media headlined the alleged problems of Bethlehem – until Christmas Eve, when suddenly there were reports of nearly 100,000 visitors who apparently were able to pass the “Apartheid wall.”

All of the reports from foreign news services, such as the Associated Press, routinely traced Christians’ problems to Israel. “Like the rest of the West Bank, the town fell on hard times after the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation broke out in late 2000,” according to AP.

As FrontPage writer Leo Rennert noted, Justus Reid Weiner, an international human rights lawyer who teaches at Hebrew University, has stated that Christians lost their majority status in Bethlehem soon after Yasser Arafat assumed control of the Palestinian Authority.

“Weiner, in a survey of human-rights abuses under Palestinian rule, found plenty of reasons – intimidations, beatings, land theft, firebombing of churches, denial of employment, torture, kidnappings, forced marriages, and extortion,” wrote Rennert. “And woe the Palestinian Muslim who converts to Christianity.”

In the previous years under Jewish control, the economy in Bethelhem, as in all of Judea, Samaria and Gaza, flourished after being suffocated under Jordanian rule, until the Intifada under Arafat. Under Jordanian occupation between 1948 and 1967, all holy sites were barred to both Christians and Jews, except for visiting dignitaries, until Israel opened up the sites after the Six-Day War in 1967.

Neither the Guardian nor foreign news services noted what would happen to the Biblical Abraham if he were to return today for a visit to the Temple Mount, where he sacrificed a ram after HaShem told him not to sacrifice his only son, Yitzchak (Isaac).

After the Six-Day War, Israel recognized Muslim claims to the Temple Mount, Judaism’s most sacred site, but Muslim authorities have used their de facto control to haul out tons of earth containing artifacts dating from the First and Second Jewish Temple, whose existence has been increasingly denied by the Palestinian Authority in specific and the Arab world in general.

Jews are barred from praying on the Temple Mount and are not even allowed to carry any holy articles with them. With Muslim observers supervising visits, police have frequently arrested or removed Jews for various violations, such as singing or reciting a prayer even in a whisper.

The Palestinian Authority has been insistent in claiming that the Temple Mount, as well as all of the Old City, is sovereign PA territory and will be the seat of a country it wants to establish. PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has stated that in a Palestinian Authority country, no Jews would be allowed, which would preclude a visit by Abraham to the place that is the foundation of the belief in one G-d.

Women are being beaten by Salafists inTunisia and surprise surprise, the 'moderate' islamist government does nothing.

How often do we hear that the Islamist Ennahda Party is moderate? How often do western journalists assure us that the soft speaking human rights spouting newly democratic islamists of whatever complexion are to be trusted?

How much evidence does it need to finally sit up and say enough? It seems nothing will convince western dupes. So the following report will not convince them either.

Turkey's islamist party is feted by the US president Barak Obama who put Turkey in charge of building an opposition to the Syrian Baathists. And no surprise that that its choice of a 'representative' opposition is mainly islamist. Needless to say Obama's 'moderate' AKP ruled Turkey at present has 70 journalists and thousands of others languishing in prison without any due process. And what about the evidence of Hamas in Gaza where women, gays and christians are humiliated and even killed?

And Hezbollah where women must where the veil. Even so called democratic Egypt now has the majority of women wearing the veil to protect themselves against violence and sexual abuse by the mob. And of course we all know about Iran.

But still, western journalists will tell us to trust them that these islamists are different. They are 'democratic'. Right, the evidence will keep pouring in and the useful idiots will mouth the the phrases that the mandarins of the British Foreign Office and US State Department wish us to hear.

As a last ditch defence you might even hear it said that arab society is traditionally brutal towards women, it being estimated that 5,000 women die each year through so-called 'honour' killings. The most moderate of arab countries couldn't bring itself to outlaw this barbaric practise. But the difference now is that the brutality will be implicitly encouraged even when not state led.

The rise of Islamist parties in the Arab Spring countries has frightened Arab women who fear losing their rights as the movements “hijack” the revolutions that overthrew long-time dictators.

“Women in Tunisia are living in fear that their previously gained rights might be lost during the rule of the Islamist Ennahda Party, because even though they say that they are moderate Islamists … they excuse all the violence that the Salafis are committing,” Dr. Khadija Arfaoui, a member of the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women and a prominent intellectual, told the Hürriyet Daily News in yesterday.

In short, the revolution in Tunisia has been “hijacked by the Islamists,” she said on the sidelines of an Istanbul conference titled “Women’s Empowerment in Economic, Social and Political Transformation of the Middle East,” which was organized by the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGİDER).
Arfaoui, who is also a professor at the Women’s Studies and Human Rights at the Higher Institute of Languages in Tunis, blamed the ruling Ennahda Party for turning a blind eye to the actions of the radical Islamist Salafis in Tunisia.

Tunisians overthrew their ruler in January. In an Oct. 25 election, the Islamist Ennahda party took the most votes and formed a new government with two left-wing parties. Arfaoui said she personally relayed her concerns to the leader of the Ennahda Party, Rached Ghannouchi, a couple of months ago.
“When Salafis see women without headscarves on the streets, they attack them with cudgels. They use violence toward female artists and intellectuals, and the Ennahda Party does nothing about them,” Arfaoui said.

Arfaoui also said many Tunisians were afraid to agree with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan when the Turkish leader visit staged a visit to the country and expressed his support for secularism.
“[This is] because secularism is [viewed] as atheism in Tunisia,” she added.

Arfaoui was sentenced to eight months in jail because of a Facebook message she forwarded in 2009during the rule of toppled President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. Tunisia’s newly elected president, Moncef Marzouki, sent a letter of support to her during her time in jail; at the time, Marzouki was a leading human rights activist.

‘Jordanian women also fear Islamists’

Arab women in Jordan, meanwhile, have had little presence at protests in the Hashemite kingdom out of fear of eventually helping the country’s Islamists come to power, according to Dr. Lina Shabeeb, a human rights activist and deputy dean at the Faculty of Law at the University of Jordan. “The protests in Jordan are different from the protests in other Arab countries. People want the corruption and the system to be changed rather than the change of the ruler. And female Jordanians don’t see this as a necessary war. They think we already have many equal rights with men, we are already in the social arena, in business life, universities [and more],” Shabeeb told the Daily News yesterday while attending the KAGİDER summit.

“Female Jordanians fear that Islamists would come to power and that they will be deprived of their rights,” she said.

Peace with the arab and muslim world is a mirage

Daniel Greenfield has written an eye opening article as to why there is no peace in the middle east. It is not because Israel is unkind to palestinians but because of a tribal and intolerant arab and islamic society that is rooted in the medieval world. Greenfield believes that peace will come there as happened in Europe when the US imposes peace. The only problem with this is that Obama recently tried to do this by sitting on Israel, by forcing it to make concession after concession to the palestinians. Israel froze building settlements for 10 months and the only result was that Mr Abbas the palestinian president refuse any longer to even talk to Israel, unless it agreed to never build any more settlements on the ancient jewish homelands of Judea and Samaria. Mr Abbas then thought again and decided that he couldn't even then talk to Israel unless it withdrew to all territory it occupied in 1967 as a result of the war forced against it by arab aggression.

We must keep in mind the palestinian foreign minister's remarks last month:
"The two state solution means a jewish state over there, and a palestinian state over here. We will never accept this".

Why for heaven's sake does Israel even try to make peace with these people. Arabs wish to destroy Israel, they never tire of telling Israel so, and never tire of committing terror against it. And Israel still believes in sitting down and talking to them?

The lesson comes fr om Germany. In WWI its armies were allowed to stay in the field rather than face the utter defeat that was coming. German honour was thus salved. This led to WWII and the allies did not make the same mistake. The germans had to know they were defeated, once and for all. Now the Germans are a peaceful people. This is the lesson Israel must learn when it deals with the arabs. Utter defeat is the only solution to war mongering arabs. The US after the execrable Obama must stop pressuring Israel but support its ally. Ditto Taiwan that Obama is abandoning to chinese aggression. Red lines need to be drawn, and defended.

"The absurdity of Israeli leaders signing peace treaties for generations with Muslim leaders who can be overthrown any minute was always obvious. But the fall of Mubarak brought it home. Had they foolishly bowed to pressure and turned over the Golan to Assad for another peace treaty, the loss would have been even worse.

"Similarly the Palestinian Authority was not able to outlive Arafat. The current Abbas/Fayyad entity financed by international aid and propped up by Israeli soldiers will fall to Hamas sooner or later. And on top of that Israel is forced to prop up Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the last of the British Empire’s line of Hashemite puppet kings, whose own restive population will eventually toss him out.

"But Israel doesn’t understand how to play by regional rules. It’s only slightly less clueless in this regard than America and Europe. Europeans pride themselves on a colonial background that makes them more in touch with the realities of the region than Americans. And Israelis pride themselves on their behind the scenes contacts that keep them even closer to the pulse of the Arab world than the Europeans. Unfortunately all of them keep making variations of the same mistakes.
