Egypt needs less meddling by Shariah Compliant Obama

Whilst the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt during President Morsy's democratic government was in power these scenes were repeated throughout Egypt. Obama's response was to send Morsy Apache helicopters, Abrams tanks and F16s.

The Obama administration that lifted sanctions on Burma which then went on to murder thousands of Kachin Christians in an ongoing genocide has a soft spot for murderous Muslim Brotherhood regimes.
Not for nothing was Mohamed Elbiary who is a member of the MB made a director of Homeland Security in the US. The US security agencies are riddled by extremist muslims placed there by Obama's cronies. Elbiary famously declared the USA to be an 'Islamic country', shariah compliant.

Nobody can be happy at countries where the respect for human rights is so low that people are sentenced to death in batches. But this is the reality of the arab world, where if your regime is not ruthless it will not survive.

Obama did not make one protest to deposed ex-President Morsy at the mass murders of innocents in Tahrir Square and throughout Egypt whilst he was in charge. Morsy's salafist thugs cruised around cities arresting those they thought were contravening shariah law. They made sure such persons were never seen again.
Morsy's men murdered people of the tiny Shia community and Coptic Christians alike. Coptic young women have for years been kidnapped, forcibly converted to islam and 'married' off to salafists.

Christians human rights throughout the world have as usual been ignored by the Obama administration, whether in Pakistan or Indonesia, just as the murder of Jews by islamic terrorists in France was described simply as "some random folks" by Obama.

There is a worrying pattern of this President's interference or at times silence in Arab countries whilst lambasting the Jewish State at every opportunity. Obama wished to tie the American horse to sunni islamists notable Turkey and Egypt allied to Iranian interests, but when that fell apart with Morsy's overthrow, and Turkey's incresing isolation, Obama increasingly has decided to throw the USA into Iran's orbit.  It is only in these terms that Obama's desperation to get a nuclear deal from Iran, any deal can be explained.

After all the Obama administration has done to destabilize the Middle East and Asia, it's a good idea if the Arabs are left to get on with their gruesome tasks. Sadly it is in all our interests, even if not in Obama's.

Egypt and its backer Saudi Arabia realize that the alternative to mercilessly crushing the Muslim Brotherhood is to face another mass breakout from prisons in future and the collapse of Egypt and other Arab states.

However hateful are the remaining arab regimes not yet involved in the maelstrom Obama unleashed by effectively deposing Mubarak, at least they offer some semblance of order in relation to the Iran and Sunni terrorist inspired chaos now ruling in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

We may be disgusted but Arab dictators know their work. For the near future brutal and despotic Arab regimes are the only game in town. The alternative is a further meltdown, millions more refugees along with mass death being the result.

And Obama will be gone soon, but not before his wrongheaded policies have wreaked even more devastation upon the Middle East and the world.
The United States said it was “deeply concerned” about former Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi’s death sentence Sunday, joining a growing list of countries and international groups who have condemned Saturday’s court decision to execute the former leader.

Judge Shaaban el-Shami sentence Morsi and over 100 others to death Saturday over a mass prison break during the 2011 uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak and later brought Islamists to power for the first time in Egypt.

Before a death penalty decision can be finalized against Morsi or the over 100 other defendants included in El-Shami’s decision, however, the case must be reviewed by Grand Mufti of Egypt Shawki Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam, according to Egyptian law.

Though the decision is not yet final, the ruling has drawn a chorus of international condemnation, joining Washington, Hamas and a host of others in opposition to the execution.

“We are deeply concerned by yet another mass death sentence handed down by an Egyptian court to more than 100 defendants, including former President Morsi,” a State Department official told Reuters Saturday.

“We have consistently spoken out against the practice of mass trials and sentences, which are conducted in a manner that is inconsistent with Egypt‘s international obligations and the rule of law,” a State Department official told AFP.

Noting that they were preliminary sentences, the official added: “We continue to stress the need for due process and individualized judicial processes for all Egyptians in the interests of justice.”

The ruling applies to 120 people in total, including 70 Palestinians, and is the latest in a series of mass death sentences handed down since the military overthrew Morsi nearly two years ago. The sentence will likely further polarize Egypt, a longtime US ally grappling with an Islamist insurgency that has intensified since Morsi’s overthrow.

In what appears to be the first violent response to the ruling, suspected Islamic militants gunned down three judges and their driver in the northern Sinai Peninsula city of al-Arish, according to security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Allah, the Ten Plagues and Koranic Zionism

Michelangelo's 'horny' Moses

The Egyptian columnist who is calling for compensation from Israel over the 10 plagues seems to be in ignorance of what the Koran says about this episode.

Egyptian columnist Ahmad Al-Gamal wants:
compensation for the [Ten] Plagues that were inflicted upon [us] as a result of the curses that the Jews’ ancient forefathers [cast] upon our ancient forefathers, who did not deserve to pay for the mistake that Egypt’s ruler at the time, Pharaoh as the Torah calls him, committed,” ... “For what is written in the Torah proves that it was Pharaoh who oppressed the Children of Israel, rather than the Egyptian people.”
Putting aside the time lag involved one piece of information that seems to have escaped Mr Ahmad Al-Gamal is that to claim compensation in any court in the world you need to be either the aggrieved party or his representative. Mr Gamal's forbears were not of ancient egyptian ancestry but related instead to Muhammad's arab cohorts who were bottled up in the arabian peninsula until the 7th century AD (this of course does not apply the indigenous Coptic Christians who don't count anyways as they are steadily being ethnically cleansed from Egypt by their muslim neighbours, despite the new regime's general tolerance towards them). When the arab armies erupted from what is now Saudi Arabia they came as imperialist occupiers. Islam is after all a crusading and supremacist religion.

Ahmad Al-Gamal dips into the Bible saying:
“They inflicted upon us the plague of locusts that didn’t leave anything behind them; the plague that transformed the Nile’s waters into blood, so nobody could drink of them for a long time; the plague of darkness that kept the world dark day and night; the plague of frogs; and the plague of the killing of the firstborn, namely every first offspring born to woman or beast, and so on”
Our arab Bible expert seems to be in ignorance of what the Koran says about the matter. As usual a little gratuitous violence is added to the biblical crib, such as a bit about cutting of a hand and foot on alternate sides. But in addition the Koran takes all the credit for the Exodus for Allah:
We sent forth Moses to pharaoh and his nobles (7:101,Koran, Penguin Classics, N.J.D.)
And in true Koranic style, even the Jew's narrative was taken with Moses now being outed as a muslim:
Moses said: 'Pharaoh, I am an apostle from the Lord of the Creation and may tell nothing of Allah but what may be true'. (7:104)
Here whilst Moses the muslim is plugging for Allah, Allah is at the same time showing himself to be a zionist. In a parallel to Genesis 1 in the Bible where God first tells us who created the earth before ascribing the Land of Israel to the Jews:
Moses said to his people;'seek help in Allah and be patient, The earth is Allah's; He gives it to those of his servants he chooses'(7:129)
'Your Lord will perchance destroy your enemies and make you rulers in the land (the Koran can not be referring to  Egypt because it deals with the Exodus in the next few verses. Yet again the Koran recognizes that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews. Muslims who work for the destruction of Israel are going against their own founding text).(7:130)
Here Allah takes the credit for the 10 Plagues:
We afflicted Pharaoh's people with dearth and famine so that they might take heed.(7:130)
If Egyptian  Ahmad Al-Gamal wants compensation for the10 Plagues it is surely with the islamic deity of Allah that he must take issue ( presuming he's a muslim which in a 80-90% muslim country where Christians are not asked for their opinions as columnists in the wholly state run media, a pretty good presumption) .

As arab countries ban any text that is of a zionist nature, may I humbly enquire as to whether there are any moves afoot to put that zionist work the Koran on their banned list, or even whether any muslims are boycotting their mosques in protest?

Where's the quid pro quo?

Israel has been asked many times by Egypt to suspend the clause in the Peace Treaty disallowing heavy armour into the border areas. Each time a request came in, Israel has acceded to that request, and the troops, the weapons, the armour  has poured in over the last few years.

Egypt might be fighting with Al Qaida in the Sinai desert at the moment, but all that armour and battalions of men and aircraft which sometimes just happen to stray into Israeli territory will remain on the border of Israel, a long-term threat to Israel's security.

Is it too much for Israel's leaders to ask at the very least for Egypt to give permission to Israel to pursue terrorists such as those who target Eilat with missiles every now and again from the safety of the egyptian Sinai desert  to be be subject to a new amendment to the peace treaty, of a 'hot pursuit' clause, such as that applied in europe's Shengen area?

We already know the answer to that one.

Israel is always expected to make concessions, to sacrifice its security.

How dare Israel expect anything in return?

Egypt's woes reflect a region in turmoil

He bows, scrapes and arms wahabite slavers and enemies of the West, and pressures Israel to sacrifice its security
What interesting times we live in. Had the american people not voted an anti-western and evil man into power for the second time, the middle east might not have seen such turbulence. As always with Israel's enemies, Obama's plans have yet again been frustrated. Whilst Mr Kerry has been stomping on Netanyahu's head, trying to get Israel to give away the family silver in exchange for a promise by palestinian arab terrorist Abbas to sit down and talk, the arab world has been eating its heart out, literally.

Kerry might yet be persuaded that the wider arab world has moved on from the troublesome and self-destructive palestinian arabs, but his boss certainly won't give up on his dream to cut tiny Israel even further down to size. A ten mile width border overlooked by hostile arabs with tanks and manpads to shoot up israeli planes on the tarmac is what Obama is about.

Whilst Obama has his hand on his heart promising Israel's security and helping fund a missile system that will be out of date in a few years, he has been plying all the arab countries around with armaments, stuffing Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, not to mention islamist Turkey with american arms and know how, arms developed and updated with Israeli help. Secrets Israel gives the USA find their way into arab hands all the better to destroy it.

But as with Hezbollah now fighting for it and Assad's lives in Syria, all those arms may yet be used to destroy arab dreams rather than Israel.

Still while Obama has his eye on Israel, but if Obama casts his eye around, he will see that everywhere he has meddled, his plans have come unstuck.

And now Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood West hating islamist fanatical government has been deposed, and we are all waiting to see whether Friday prayers in Cairo will finish with an outburst of violence to rival that in Syria. It may happen but the Muslim Brotherhood will be fighting in a different terrain. They have no Russia, Iran or Hezbollah to help them, and the few Hamas terrorists who were shooting at unarmed protesters have been arrested inside the MB HQ.

The Muslim Brotherhood does not look able to wage war against the egyptian army at present, although with the Libyan hinterland chock full of weapons controlled by Al Qaidah this could change. But as long as the egyptian army remains loyal (which is very possibly the case as Morsy acted in too much haste, unlike islamist Erdogan in Turkey), infiltration from Libya will run along a killing zone hundreds of miles long, a zone where the egyptian air force would make mincemeat of supply convoys to any rebels in Egypt.

Of course western media and governments are already coming out with their slanted news and condemnations of the overthrow of a democratic government. Where were the condemnations of the steady massacres of copts in Egypt? Democracy does not mean that minorities should be ethnically cleanzed from their countries, that the indigenous coptic people should give up their lives or their land because of western fallacies about democracy. Hitler was also democratically elected, and the islamist government of Morsy was no less evil, intending to attack Israel as soon as possible (the economic collapse put the brakes on his talk about 'changing' the peace treaty with Israel). Of course western media was not interested in Morsy's saying 'amen' to a sermon calling for the destruction of jews, or of Morsy's calling for jihad before his election. Western media was likewise not interested in Morsy's rant about teaching children and grandchildren to hate 'the descendants of apes and pigs' i.e. jews.

Is it good that Morsy has been overthrown? I'm actually not in favor of this, as the egyptian economy is in dire straits, and is possibly not able to be fixed. Whoever takes power now is going to be blamed for the slow starvation of Egypt's people. Morsy would have otherwise have taken the blame for the collapse. As it is the Muslim Brotherhood has actually been saved, either to fight another day, or to fight now.

Whatever happens, the news for those who love western civilization and Israel rather than hate them is not too bad.  Syria is burning and will continue to burn, possibly for years as neither shia or sunni can afford to back down. Turkey is heading for the rocks with tourism set to decline, with hot money propping up the turkish economy, and with a people that is heartily sick of the islamist police state.

How different things look now from only a couple of years ago. After Turkey provoked the Gaza crisis with its proxy IHH terror 'charity' thugs the fear was of an islamic coalition in the region which could prepare another 1973 like attack on Israel, or just squeeze it on all sides with asymetric warfare.

It shows that, where Israel is concerned we need faith, that all will be well, that a power greater than the West's enemies is protecting this outpost of western civilization.

My faith is however a little stretched by the case of Iran. Israel has been held back so long by Obama that it is now possibly too late to  prevent that country from getting nuclear weapons. Iran is however a country that has major pockets of instability, from the kurds and azeris in the north, to the arabs in the south. Iran is also now getting ever more committed into Syria, although it seems that Iraqi shia are losing their lives in Syria more than iranian nationals at the moment.

So maybe we can hold onto our faith. The islamic forces of darkness are first and foremost a threat to themselves.

Morsy's thinly veiled calls for war with Israel are ignored whilst Egypt builds up its forces in the Sinai

During the November 2012 operation by Israel to stop Hamas and Islamic Jihad's steady drip drip of missiles fired at israeli towns and cities, Egypt's president gave an as yet uncommented speech by commentators at a mosque. It is a pity this speech has not been noticed as it helps in forming a picture of just who Israel and the West is dealing with. For good measure I also include some of Morsy's previous statements, and wonder how a man who describes Americans as his enemies can continue to take their money, or indeed be given it? Obama doesn't let a little thing like hatred for the USA prevent him throwing good money after bad. America can not have more resolute enemies than the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaidah, yet they are now being actively supported in Syria by the USA.

"Dear brothers, we must not forget to nurse our children and grandchildren on hatred towards those zionists and jews and all those who support them. They must be nursed on hatred, The hatred must continue"
The long rant shows that the man who called for muslims to nurse their children and grandchildren on hatred for jews, who described jews as 'apes and pigs' and who called for jihad before becoming president is the same man who later answered 'amen' to a mosque preacher's call to destroy the jews, and that Morsy is not just prepared to leave that destruction to Allah's will, but to take an active hand in it at a time of his choosing.

In Morsy's speech he barely disguises his threats to break the peace treaty with Israel, to wage war and take Jerusalem. This is not a new theme but a constant of himself and of the Muslim Brotherhood which he led.

Only a month before his election as president Morsy called for Jihad. Without actually naming Israel it was obvious which country he was referring to.

During Morsy's speech full of dire threats to Israel, he does not once rebuke Hamas for the 12,000 missiles fired indiscriminately and without provocation at Israel's border towns and cities over a ten year period, not one word calling for restraint by Gaza terrorists.

All Morsy had for his mosque audience were condemnations and threats against Israel, warning it that Gaza is not alone, not even mentioning the word 'Israel' but referring to it only as the 'occupation', a euphemism for Israel used by Hamas in Gaza, an appelation which denies legitimacy to Israel, which aspires to rub out what is seen as a never ending aggression against political islam, the fact of the Jewish State in Israel. This is no surprise as Hamas is an offshoot of Morsy's own Muslim Brotherhood.

Just in case Morsy would claim he was referring to an occupation of Gaza, that territory is not 'occupied', there not being one Israeli soldier in any part of it, and Gaza shares a border with Egypt not controlled by Israel but by egyptian forces. For Morsy as with Hamas all of Israel is occupied muslim waqf,  territory to be 'liberated' when the opportunity arises. Unhappily for Morsy Egypt is going through an economic disaster at the moment, and arab oil countires are not looking to finance a new war with Israel whilst they live in fear of an Iranian take over of the middle east, a threat to the positions and lives of the oil sheikhs.

Despite this and previous verbal threats by Morsy against Israel, Israel continues to allow egyptian forces to bring heavy armour into the Sinai peninsula, ostensibly to defeat the beduin linked to al qaida. The tanks are useless in the sort of guerilla warfare the beduin practise. But Morsy does not intend them to be used for that purpose, but to be pre positioned for the war he wishes to wage against Israel.

As usual Israel's generals swallow the 'takiya' hook line and sinker (takiya is Quran sanctioned lying to your enemy in order to deceive him. Straight talking israeli generals who wish the Sinai rid of terrorists who fire missiles at Israel don't understand that they are being fed a line by Morsy)

This speech whereby Morsy fails to distinguish Israel's campaign against the terror emanating from Gaza and an attack on Egypt shows not only that Morsy feels personally attacked by Israel, but that Morsy is looking forwards to a time when Israel is destroyed.

Israel gave Egypt the Sina in 1982 in exchange for peace. But Morsy shows that the peace is wafer thin, only on paper, and to be broken when his country feels itself strong again.

To those who say that the Peace Treaty kept the peace with Israel for thirty years, I say they are wrong. Israel had peace up to now because Egypt remembered the thrashing Israel gave it in 1973, when the egyptian 2nd and 3rd armies were at Arik Sharon's mercy, waiting for the coup de grace. They got food and water instead.
And because Israel spared their lives, they could emerge claiming victory. In Egypt the Yom Kippur War is claimed to have been a victory stolen by america, which save Israel from egyptian wrath. Had Israel destroyed those armies utterly, then the memory of a terrible defeat would have been undeniable, and Morsy would be a little more reticent about preparing his people now for war.
Just as Germany did not learn its lesson in World War I because of allied mercy, because the German Army was left intact, similarly with Egypt. Only in WWII when Germany was devastated, its armies shattered could germans learn the lessons of aggressive war, that it can come back to bite, and that maybe peace is a good option for everyone.
Israel is being shielded now by the sunni-shia conflagration coupled with Egypt's dire financial situation:
Two days prior, the Central Bank of Egypt issued a Bond Sale that got cancelled because no one bought anything, thanks to the new credit rating for the country that has put it in the same economic league as Greece. That same day, Pakistani President Ali Asif announced that his Party will not allow the implementation of the “Egyptian model” in Pakistan. And yesterday, the Egyptian pound plummeted against the dollar, reaching its lowest official level in Egyptian history, with people not being able to find dollars in exchange offices to replace soon to be worthless Egyptian pounds.

But we are the bankrupt ones.

Egypt is about to face an economic nuclear winter, a crisis the levels of which are unprecedented and for which the current government is completely and totally unprepared for. Interestingly enough, this is happening just as the Sharia Constitution has gloriously passed, and Islam has finally strengthened its foothold in the land of the Pharaoh –worshipping infidels. God will surely send manna from heaven at any minute now, given that this depraved atheist country has finally seen the light and the way. After all, our President is a praying President, and one day this country will see the glorious economic stability and advancement of similar non-oil-wealthy Islamic states like Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan. Praise Allah and hide your dollars.

Israel should nevertheless take note what Egypt's intentions under Morsy are for it.

It would be nice to think that the USA is likewise deceived by arab takkiya, but Obama is a man with a pro islamist agenda. Obama has surrounded himself with anti-Israel advisers at the very highest echelons, Kerry, Hagel, Rice and now Powers. Kerry has made five trips to Israel to push a non-existant peace process forwards, determined to divest tiny Israel of the small bit of security that Judea and Samria affords Israel. In return for giving up its ancestral territory, lands essential for its survival, Israel will be given some new weaponry that will be out of date in a few years, and in any case counterbalanced by weapons transfers to arab countries.

The USA has only this year, after this fiery speech threatening Israel given Egypt a massive arms package including 200 Abrams tanks and 20 F16's not to mention the half a billion dollars in financial emergency aid.
With Obama's $60 billions in sales to Saudi Arabia last year, and billions of dollars in further arms sales to gulf countries this year, in addition to his now arming the sunni islamist rebels in syria, Obama is not only building an armed front against Iran, but against Israel. It is hard not to escape the thought that Obama wishes to speed the end of the Syrian Civil War, in  order that the next war against Israel can be waged by the sunni muslim brotherhood/ al qaidah coalition he is building, funding, traingin and arming. He won't be successful, at least not in the near term as I have explained before now, for each action by Obama, there will be an equal and opposite reaction by Assad's backers, Iran and Russia.

In the USA Israel's enemies such as Walt and Mearsheimer often point to the $3 billions granted to Israel in security aid, without noting that Israel spends most of that money in the USA, that in exchange invaluable Israeli know how is  used to upgrade USA weaponry for free.

In any case the aid is the least that the USA can do after having constantly eroded Israel's security over the years by forcing it to allow its arab enemies to retire in good order during wars. In 1973 Israel was forced by Nixon to even feed two egyptian armies after Syria and Egypt's surprise attack that almost destroyed Israel.
If the USA would not send its top of the range armaments to Israel's enemies, Israel would not need the aid that the americans give it. Constantly increasing the firepower of unstable arab regimes means constantly eroding Israel's security with a consequent need to update its weapons systems.
USA policy such as the overthrowing of the Egyptian and Libyan regimes has also worked to undermine Israel's security and increase its security costs. The Libyan fiasco had as a byproduct that terrorists have had free access to Ghadafi's arsenal, his weapons being used to fire at Eilat from the Sinai desert ( There is also the little matter of the destabilised regimes in north africa).

Luckily for Israel, its enemies whether in the White House, in Egypt or Syria can not accurately predict the results of their actions. The Arab Winter that Obama so deliberately promoted has actually had some very beneficial side effects for Israel's security, not least the bringing of a realisation amongst Israelis that the near disaster of offering Assad the Golan Heights was only averted by Assad's intransigence, ditto the attempted giving away of Judea and Samaria and Old Jerusalem to palestinian arabs by Olmert.

Israel is waking up to the arab designs on its land, not in the cause of peace, but in an attempt to destroy Israel. The arabs have shot their bolt. Israelis have woken up to the great peace con trick (albeit with exceptions of exceedingly gullible ex generals like Dagan or Barak).

The crowd was reacted with violent emotions to this speech by Morsy, shouting that in blood and their souls they would liberate 'Palestine'.

Morsy:

We have warned them before and we warn them time after time 00:27

We'll not leave Gaza alone, that Egypt today is totally different that what was before 01:00

Arabs today are totally different 1:21

Mob chanting of with their blood and their souls they will liberate 'Palestine'

Muslims today are not the same as years ago 1:49

We're telling the occupation you will not get any peace by assalting the others.

You will not be able to conquer people 3:58
And you will not be able to kill a nation 4:03

You were never able to establish a real peace in the region because of your aggression 4:07
Read the lessons of history....... that you have had no success, and will not 4:29

We assure everyone that Egypt does not want war with anyone 4:50
We're inviting the region to peace, a real one,
Not for one side, or one nation 5:01

A fake peace is a waste of time, and it is unnacceptable in any case 5:10
Their trying to show the world fake evidence , to earn more time (Ooops:-i'm not sure what he is alluding to but much faked evidence came out of Gaza such as a BBC journalist Donnison forwarding pictures of children killed and injured in Syria as having happened in Gaza, of fake injuries of a man who then got up an walked very nicely a few minutes later, and of the death of a child from a Hamas Qassam missile, but attributed to an israeli airstrike)

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

We'll not lose any chances......
Everyone should know Egypt's capabilities, will and revolution 6:00
Just as it took down a corrupted regime, it has the ability to take down the (Israeli) aggressor
Loud chants of Allahu Akbar from the mob

Egypt's leaders are also angry 6:31
I speak to the aggressors when I say learn from history 6:56
Stop this bloodshed now or you will not be able to stop our anger 7:04
The anger of a people and their leadership 7:21
All of our souls are looking forward to Jerusalem 06:43 (The egyptian Cleric Safwat Higazi who launched MB Candidate Muhammad Mursi's Campaign: Mursi said he would 'Restore the "United States of the Arabs" with Jerusalem as Its Capital i.e. establish a new egyptian Caliphate and destroy Israel)

More loud chants of Allahu Akbar from the mob who have no doubt that Morsy is about making war with Israel
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I speak to the aggressors when I say learn the lessons of history
Stop this blood shed now or you will not be able to block our anger
Morsy is here not speaking of learning recent history, but of when the muslim prophet Muhammad massacred jewish cities including the jews of Khaybar for not converting to islam, for having the temerity to resist Muhammad and fight against him. Morsy's audience again knows full well the genocidal references being made, as they are made often in the mosques and madrassas. The evils of jews (and christians, although they are considered as a lesser evil, not that it helps them much from attack in Pakistan, Egypt, Syria,Iraq, Indonesia and elsewhere) as recounted in the Qur'an are stressed frequently by islamic preachers throughout the world.

Egyptians were always peaceful, and in their whole history never invaded surrounding lands 07:24

(Oops: this is laughable- On 15th May 1948 Egypt invaded Israel along with 5 arab armies in an attempt to destroy the newly founded state, the egyptian pharaohs were always fighting abroad for their empire, and the Mamluk egyptians in the 14th century had an empire in north africa and the middle east)

You'll never have control either on us or Gaza
Morsy takes Israel's campaign in Gaza personally, as an attack on himself, on Egypt. This supports the argument that palestinian identity is fake, an nationalism only promoted when speaking to foreign journalists and diplomats. Gaza was ruled by Egypt from 1948-1967, and for the Muslim Brotherhood Gaza is still seen as a muslim, an outpost of the umma, if ruled at one remove by Hamas.

No one had the ability to occupy us forever 7:35

Egyptians were always capable of blocking any assault
We're here in Egypt standing in solidarity with OUR people in Gaza 7:50

We will also keep on supporting the people of Palestine and their case 9:27

We will support palestinian decisions whenever they decide it 9:32

Are the days numbered for Egypt's archaeological heritage?

I did wonder when I wrote this article last week when Egypt's islamists would remember all that artwork lying around just ready for the iconoclast's hammer. I didn't have long to wait as not happy with the 'nose job' already inflicted on the Sphinx, one Egyptian jihadi wants to finish the work begun by one of his forbears.
But Egypt is not Afghanistan, there is so much of the stuff lying around. What better job creation scheme for the millions of Cairo's unemployed who can begin work on this horrendous piece of idolatry:

An Egyptian jihad leader, with self-professed links to the Taliban, called for the “destruction of the Sphinx and the Giza Pyramids in Egypt,” drawing ties between the Egyptian relics and Buddha statues, local media reported this week.

Murgan Salem al-Gohary, an Islamist leader twice-sentenced under former President Hosni Mubarak for advocating violence, called on Muslims to remove such “idols.”

“All Muslims are charged with applying the teachings of Islam to remove such idols, as we did in Afghanistan when we destroyed the Buddha statues,” he said on Saturday during a television interview on an Egyptian private channel, widely watched by Egyptian and Arab audiences.

“God ordered Prophet Mohammed to destroy idols,” he added. “When I was with the Taliban we destroyed the statue of Buddha, something the government failed to do.”

His comments came a day after thousands of ultraconservative Islamists gathered in Tahrir Square to call for the strict application of Sharia law in the new constitution.

But in retaliation to Gohary’s remarks, the vice president of Tunisia’s Ennahda party, Sheikh Abdel Fattah Moro, called the live program and told Gohary that famous historic military commander Amr ibn al-Aas did not destroy statues when he conquered Egypt.

“So who are you to do it?” he wondered. “The Prophet destroyed the idols because people worshiped them, but the Sphinx and the Pyramids are not worshiped.”

No islamic nostalgia for buildings and art unless in Israel and the Temple Mount

Egyptian Sphinx given a 'nose job' by muslim iconoclasts
I'm filled with sadness when I think of so much world heritage smashed to pieces by muslim iconoclasts in years gone by. Much of ancient Egyptian art was given the islamic treatment with faces bashed out so that only the bodies are left on many beautiful statues. That beautiful monument the "sphinx"might have been so much more beautiful were it not for islamic "improvements".
So it is with little surprise that the barbaric islamists of Mali and Saudi Arabia are destroying ancient relics of islam itself. A religion that does not teach tolerance for the other, that has no possibility of updating its creed into an age of human rights and respect for other people's sensitivities and cultures will not respect its own. All that is needed is for a different islamic school such as the wahabites or salafists to come along and then previous works of even islamic art become dust.

The Saudis are bulldozing Islam's heritage. Why the silence from the Muslim world?

By Damian Thompson World Last updated: November 2nd, 2012

Imagine that the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem – the traditional site of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus – has been taken over by Cromwellian Puritans. The new owners of the shrine plan to send bulldozers in, replacing the old church with a monstrous building resembling a concrete spaceship. This is so pilgrims can pray without being distracted by “superstitious” icons. Also, the Old City will be buried under hotels that make Vegas look like Venice.

It wouldn’t happen, would it? Christians would fight to the death to preserve Jerusalem. So would Jews and Muslims. And, for once, they’d have the support of secular politicians and scholars, horrified by the prospect of an act of cultural vandalism unprecedented in modern times.

Unprecedented until now, that is. The long-cherished ambition of Saudi Arabia’s ruling Wahhabi sect to smash up the ancient buildings of Mecca and Medina is nearing fruition.

In Mecca, the house of one of Mohammed’s wives has been demolished to make space for public lavatories. His birthplace may disappear, too, as part of King Abdullah’s scheme to complement the skyscrapers and shopping malls with a Grand Mosque fashioned from the same materials as a multi-storey car park in Wolverhampton.

As for Islam’s second holiest place, the city of Medina, a recent article by Jerome Taylor in the Independent revealed a megalomaniac plan to pull down three 7th-century mosques. Taylor added: “Ten years ago, a mosque which belonged to the Prophet’s grandson was dynamited. Pictures of the demolition that were secretly taken and smuggled out of the kingdom showed the religious police celebrating.”

Only a small minority of the world’s billion Muslims are Wahhabis, despite the tens of billions of petrodollars spent by the Saudis propagating their creed. (Bosnia, for example, is now littered with Saudi-style mosques, replacing the graceful Ottoman architecture that Wahhabis detest.) Many pilgrims to Mecca are revolted by the marriage of Puritanism and greed they find there. Yet protests are scattered and muted. Why?

One answer is that the House of Saud, though widely hated, is also feared: its wealth and terrorist connections make it unlikely that, say, a Pakistani politician would speak openly about the desecration of the Hajj.

The West can hardly complain about such gutlessness: this year’s Hajj exhibition at the British Museum was creepily sanitised – no mention of bulldozers or the 2,000ft clock tower built right next to the Kaaba, the black cube-shaped building that is the centrepiece of Islamic devotions.

But what sticks in the craw is the hypocrisy of Muslims who throw a fit if Israeli archaeologists carry out non-intrusive work underneath the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, “Islam’s third holiest place”, as we’re constantly reminded. Such anger would be more convincing if the first and second holy sites weren’t being ploughed up by a police state. Likewise, are cartoons of Mohammed really more offensive than reducing the remains of his life to rubble?

As one Middle East expert put it to me: “Jews disturbing the Dome of the Rock fits into an anti-Western narrative, so Muslims can cope with that. The Saudi destruction of Mecca doesn’t fit into that narrative, and so there’s virtual silence.” Something worth bearing in mind, perhaps, when you wonder why the murder of Muslims by Muslims in Darfur or Syria provokes only limited outrage in the Islamic world.

Peace at "any price" is a recipe for Israel's destruction

Israel is waking up to the fact that there is an enemy entity in the south of the country, but the message from Egypt has still not gone home. That an adviser to Barak the defence minister can talk about keeping the peace treaty with Egypt at "any price" is foolish.

Britain's Chamberlain wanted peace at "any price", and the price for that was Czechoslovakia. The result of that perfidy in selling an ally down the road was not peace, but a terrible world war that could have been avoided. Germany was no match in 1938 for an alliance of France, GB and Czechoslovakia. Germany's generals were themselves only waiting for the nod from Lord Halifax to go ahead and arrest Hitler.

Israel has been buying peace at any price with Hamas for a long time now, and it has no peace or peace of mind. Israel keeps to the islamist rules of the game that so long as only the 'expendable' towns and even the city of Beersheba are attacked, then Hamas rule is safe. So we see time and again wave after wave of rockets killing and injuring Israelis and terrorising a million people. Once the terror has been inflicted Hamas through the intercession of Egypt 'agrees' to a ceasefire. This constant terror now aided and abetted by Egypt is aimed at undermining the peace and security of Israelis throughout the south, and a few dead Israelis now and again are just the icing on the cake.
And the terror has had its effect. Israelis with capital have left the south. Only the poverty stricken remain in Sderot and Netivot the communities closest to Gaza.

And Israel goes along with this. It kills a few expendable terrorists in the act of firing rockets and then waits for the next attack which will force a million Israelis to sleep in bomb shelters and stop life for days. And that is without mentioning the thousands of jewish kids who wet their beds at night. And this goes on year after year.

The 'peace at any price' mantra in Judea and Samaria means that there also there is no peace. Jews are attacked and their property is damaged and stolen unceasingly and arab settlements keep encroaching on jewish land.

There is an inability amongst many of Israel's leaders to recognise just what our enemies are up to. From trying to cut bits of Israel's ancient homelands away, to terrorising the border areas and now to Muhammad Morsy's desire to rearrange the peace treaty there is a plan, to reduce the area where jews live in, to make Israel's borders less secure than they already are, to reduce those borders, to situate armed and agressive enemies along those borders and then to destroy Israel when it is least able to defend itself, when its strategic borders are lost to it. This may happen through one coordinated attack or many smaller ones which gradually overwhelm Israel's defences. The latter plan is already in effect in Judea and Samaria and with the attacks from Gaza.

Barak and Netanyahu must realise the game has changed in the middle east. The sunni muslim countries are surrounding it with (the present exception of Jordan but that country is very unstable and could easily fall to the islamists) all extreme and all committed to Israel's destruction. None more so than Egypt whose leader only a week or two ago uttered 'amen' to his imam's prayer for the destruction of jews and Israel. One month before his election Morsy was screaming his wish for Jihad, his Muslim Brotherhood leader Baddie said that next year muslims would raise their black flag in Jerusalem.

If Israel's really do want peace, then they must remember the wise saying that "if you wish for peace, then prepare for war."

If Israel believes that it can buy its way out of another war with Egypt by appeasing it, by allowing the Peace Treaty to be changed, it is very much mistaken. The only way a new war can be avoided is if Israel makes it clear that Egypt will pay a terrible price, that the Aswan dam will be turned to rubble. Israel must learn the laws of the middle east. Hezbollah has not messed with Israel since 2006 after Israel turned its Beirut neighbourhood and much of South Lebanon to rubble. Balance of terror is the only way that the armies of islam will be put off from their plans.

Israel must change its mindset, turn from appeasement to a determination to defend its interests, to make its enemies pay a stiff price for their aggression against Israel. Once Israel does that it will have peace.

Shabbat Shalom (to my christian and muslim readers, have a nice weekend)

There is little chance that Israel will maintain high-level diplomatic channels with an increasingly radicalized Egypt, a top Israeli security official said Friday.

Defense Ministry department director Amos Gilad told students in Herzliya that the election of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi as president in Egypt had led to all but frozen ties between Jerusalem and Cairo.

“There’s no talking between our diplomatic corps and theirs, and I believe there will not be in the future. [Morsi] won’t talk with us,” he said.

Morsi’s election has worried some officials in Israel, who fear that the Islamist president will move to change the terms of Israel and Egypt’s 1979 peace treaty, which has held a cold peace between the countries.

Gilad slammed Morsi’s regime, saying its rise to power boded ill for the region.

“Out of a desire for democracy, grew a horrifying dictatorship,” he said.

Gilad, a top aide to Defense Minister Ehud Barak, said Israel needed to make sure the treaty with Egypt stayed in place, no matter the cost.

We need to keep the peace treaty with Egypt at any price,” he said, adding that the country did not want to have to send troops against Egypt.

Morsi has said he will respect the treaty, but has downplayed any chance of high-level contact with Jerusalem.

In July, President Shimon Peres received a friendly letter from Morsi hoping for security and stability in the region, but Morsi’s office denied ever sending the letter.

A letter sent last month with Egypt’s envoy to Israel called Peres a “great and good friend.” After the publication of the letter caused a small uproar in the Arab world, Cairo claimed the text was standard and did not mean anything special.

There's no fool like an old Hirsch Goodman

Goodman's first ludicrous statement is this:
"This is the time to use circumstance to bind the peace agreement, not excuses for undermining it."
There have been euphemistic calls from across the political spectrum in Egypt to "re-negotiate" the Peace Treaty. Often the calls have been to simply tear it up.

President Mohamed Morsy has shown no interest in bolstering the peace treaty with Israel, but rather to increase his forces in the Sinai, including anti aircraft weapons and tanks.  All contrary to the peace treaty, and unexplainable in any other terms than to prepare the ground for a new conflict with Israel.
There is a formal peace treaty that binds the sides that could be interpreted with goodwill, or used as a club against the peace treaty itself. It all depends on what the leaders want. Morsy has to tread carefully between the expectations of the Islamists who put him into power, the terms of the peace treaty and continued American monetary and military support.
And Israel has to ensure that the peace treaty is not unilaterally violated, opening the potential for the unraveling of the accords altogether.

The arab and Egyptian press have been full of such 'violations' such as when Israel last year in  hot pursuit of terrorists who killed 8 Israelis killed egyptians soldiers who were firing at them. Nobody ever explained how it just so happened that terrorists wearing egyptian army uniforms managed to mingle with egyptian soldiers, to operate right next to them and carry out a deadly attack. Of course all the ire was directed at Israel rather than the terrorists.

Israel and Egypt both have inherent interests in maintaining law and order in Sinai.
Israel certainly has, but Egypt has allowed the situation in the Sinai to deteriorate for years. The Egyptian view, also in Mubarak's time was that as long as only Israel suffers, then they'd turn a blind eye to terrror operatives working in the Sinai and smuggling rockets into Gaza. Only when Hezbollah sent 48 operatives to attack the Suez canal did Mubarak wake up. Even then he allowed hundreds of tunnels from Gaza to operated without checks as to just what the Gazans were importing.
There is the safety of American and international troops deployed in Sinai to consider, who are only there because of the peace treaty in the first place.
This is interesting. The force is there to verify the peace treaty is being kept, i.e. that Egypt is not smuggling in forces as a vanguard in a future attack on Israel. The force has had nothing to say of Egypt breaking the provisions of the treaty. Which reminds us of UThants force in 1967 which abandoned their positions, leaving Israel in the lurch as soon as Nasser asked for a corridoor. And then there was the promised fleet to open the Suez canal up to israeli shipping, a provision from the 1957 agreement in which Israel agreed to relinquish the Sinai. Nothing came of that. And then there were the european observers at Rafah who fled into Israel as soon as Hamas began to threaten them.

Israel should know by now the value of international observers. They are a tripwire at the most, a sign of things to come. Other than that they have been as useless as the UN in Lebanon who go around closing their eyes to Hezbollah's arming of the south in contravention of Resolution 1701, their mandate under that resolution to confiscate weapons brought into the area. The Sinai observers have not seen fit to report publically the Egyptian violations of the peace treaty. In any case, their first priority being to look to their safety means they have been reducing their patrols to a point where they are effectively confined to base.

It can be expected that Egypt’s first non-soldier president will try to present himself as a responsible moderate, unabashed about his deep Islamic beliefs but, at the same time, committed to democracy, not unlike the leadership of today’s Turkey. Egypt, he can be expected to argue, is not part of the problem, but essential to regional stability. Undermining the peace treaty with Israel, it seems, is not something Morsy would logically want to do at this stage, though anything is possible.

Morsy and his Muslim Brotherhood have never had a commitment to democracy. Neither does the AKP under Erdogan. There are now thousands of political prisoners in Turkey. Turkey has the highest number of journalists imprisoned than in any other country in the world. Turkey has muzzled its journalists, undermined its courts and educational system and crippled its army with hundreds of ranking officers now in jail.

It is unbelievable that Goodman can make such ignorant statements.
He should watch the following two clips and then revisit the inanities he's been writing.

and Morsi's spokesman talks about taking Jerusalem:

Both sides need the peace treaty and the current situation in Sinai shows one reason why.
Israel needs the peace treaty. Morsy doesn't. He needs money to stabilise his country before beginning his campaign of re-taking 'islamic' lands which in his opinion are unjustly occupied by Israel. We aren't talking of Israel's ancient homelands of Judea and Samaria ('West Bank') but of all of Israel, of Tel-Aviv, of Haifa and Jerusalem. For Morsy jews have no rights anywhere in the region. They must all leave or die.

Israel and Morsy’s Egypt have a lot more in common than meets the eye. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is a whole different kettle of fish compared to fragments of the organization in other parts of the Arab world. In Egypt the Brotherhood has traditionally advocated nonviolence and Islamic family values.
What a load of rubbish. The MB has been a violent organisation from its inception. The MB flag with its crossed swords should be enough to explain.

The MB founder said:

It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.”  Therefore, the Muslim Brotherhood opposes secular tendencies of Islamic nations and wants a return to the precepts of the Qur'an. The Brotherhood firmly rejects all notions of Western influences in addition to rejecting extreme Sufism as well. Brotherhood members organize events from prayer meetings to sport clubs for socializing.
The organization's motto: “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”
the Muslim Brotherhood not only condemned the US for killing bin-Laden in May 2011, they also facilitated the growth of al-Qaida. Abdullah Azzam, bin-Laden's mentor, came out of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood; Ayman al-Zawahiri, bin-Laden's deputy, came from the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood; Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, grew up in the Kuwaiti Muslim Brotherhood.
The MB was for many year not violent in Egypt only because of the severe repression of the organisation over many years.
Morsy’s upcoming trip is to the US is a sure signal that he intends to stay on a pro- Western track.
Rubbish. The Egyptian economy needs over $4 billion urgently before it grinds to a halt. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are being niggardly in coming up with the money as there are suspicions about Morsy, not least his cuddling up to Iran, seen as a mortal threat to those sunni countries.
"The right to vote, after all, is something we all hold dear and true."
Yes, but will Morsy ever go for elections again? His Hamas offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood is now years overdue for elections (as is Abbas of the Palestinian Authority). Democracy isn't about electing islamists in one time elections so that they can work to destroy secular society, ethnically cleanse christians and wage war against Israel. If Morsy decides to run for elections at a future date, it will only be if he is absolutely certain of winning. The MB will not relinquish power willingly.
This is the time to use circumstance to bind the peace agreement, not excuses for undermining it; to encourage Morsy to court the West, not fight against it; find workable solutions to the security problems in Sinai, not exacerbate them; and to wish Morsy well on his trip to America, not wish for his failure.
The last thing the West should do is to work towards entrenching the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. The Muslim Brotherhood makes has made no secret that it is about power. Morsy has moved quickly to remove the military as a limitation on his amibitions, puttin in an MB islamist general to head the armed forces. Morsy has just appointed 50 new editors of newspapers and has made no move to call a parliament into session.

The MB also makes no bones about its re-establishing a Caliphate, and does not disguise its enmity for Israel in its arabic publications.

My only hope is that Israel's military with whom Goodman has close links are not as fooled as he is. It is no more than a hope because the 'concept' comes very much to mind at the present, of a military establishment lulled into complaisance by misleading statements and information placed by the egyptians before the 1973 war to make the israelis believe that they had no warlike intentions.

Similarly now Egypt's defence minister might make the right noises about keeping to the peace treaty but Egypt's recent behaviour of infiltrating unnecessary weapons into the Sinai without coordination with Israel belies that.

And then of course there is Morsy's recent telling Egyptians that jihad and war is the only way. His spokesman was even more explicit saying that Jerusalem will soon be liberated.

No pleading or bending of Hirsch Goodman's knee is going to change Morsy's intentions for Israel. The only limits on Morsy are the preparedness of his army and the parlous state of Egypt's finances. When you can't buy fuel, your tanks can't roll.

Israel must prepare its defences because Morsy and his defence minister are preparing for the day that they can attack Israel.
