IHH terrorists are described as 'victims' in Ynet and Times of Israel

The knife wielding terrorists who stabbed this Israeli soldier on the Mavi Marmara are now 'victims'

The Times of Israel is a newly formed news website established by the former editor of the Jerusalem Post. As with the JP much of the content is taken from the news syndicates which overwhelmingly have an anti-Israel agenda. It might be expected that israeli journalists would used this material carefully, as they understand that the serried ranks of foreign journalists in Israel are not there to report anything good about the country, but have been indoctrinated to twist any story to Israel's detriment. The Mavi Marmara is no exception as Reuters doctoring of the above picture shows:

So a news item about the families of the terrorists killed on the Mavi Marmari is of course begun with a not so subliminal statement about turks having suffered from  'israeli brutality'. The AP report describing as 'victims' those who attacked israeli soldiers fails to mention that the soldiers boarded the Mavi Marmari only with paintball guns at the ready. Israel's soldiers who were attacked by gangs of trained thugs even as they boarded the Mavi-Marmara in furtherance of a legal blockade of Hamas missile smuggling into Gaza were the real victims.

Any story with an anti-Israel slant will be copied to the four corners of the earth by Reuters, AP and AFP.

But when a jewish journalist reporting for an israeli newspaper uses such material, can she not at least reword the misleading first paragraph and title to make it more accurate, to reflect the real facts? After all, Michal Shmulovich claims credit for stories she reposts under her name.

Being a jewish journalist in Israel Michal Shmulovich is certainly aware of how foreign journalists design reports so as to condemn Israel from the beginning.

Last first headlines are a favorite method to have Israel condemned as the aggressor from the very start, even against the facts of the versame article (further explained at BBC watch):

It really is too much to expect an msm journalist to write a headline such as 'Israel responds to attack..........'
That would not have the desired effect.

 Most people will not read a whole story, so the headline and the first paragraph must be made to drive the arraignment of Israel home, even if the true facts are buried somewhere near the end. This is a favorite trick of Reuters and BBC.

 Below there is an article about how jews have supposedly attacked arabs. We have the accusation against Samarian jews, but only at the end are the palestinian arab accusers being mentioned. Anyone who knows anything about Pallywood knows that nearly all 'incidents' between jews living in Judea and Samaria, 'settlers' are staged, that there is a whole industry of false accusations against Israel. Where there are actual incidents you can bet your bottom dollar that it was begun by arabs. There is at least one new pallywood production each week so it's hard to keep track of them all. Arabs engage in arson of Israeli forests all the time, so why not accuse jews of having done it to arabs? Here they forgot that jews mustn't light fires on the jewish sabbath, the the mass media don't mind.  Anything will be picked up on and published:

What rarely gets reported are the endless attacks on jewish villages, sometimes with the tragic results seen at Itamar with the massacre of the Fogel family. Jews are daily attacked with stones, knives, guns and firebombs. And when they are reported, the arab attackers are described as 'non-violent protesters', an attempt to minimise the significance of the attacks.

"At least seven Palestinian children were injured Sunday south of Nablus after settlers threw stones at them, according to Palestinian sources.

Eight Palestinian girls were lightly injured by settlers from Yitzhar who whisked rocks in their direction and then drove away, AFP reported, quoting an unnamed Palestinian Authority official.

There is an arab war against Israel going on in Judea and Samaria, aided and abetted by the world's press.

Is this soldier really abusing a palestinian child in this picture flashed around the world by the networks? Photographers don't publish what came before

Yep, it's the very same girl, very well trained to provoke the response that will gain the all important response

Give her credit, she does try hard. Watch the video for more, and never again be fooled by Pallywood

Once you've seen this video, you'll understand just who are the aggressors in Judea and Samaria, and the role of the press in building up the lie of arab victimhood. The press and other adults are encouraging the children to work to get that one precious shot of an israeli manhandling a child. That will then be flashed around the world:



AFP, Reuters, BBC and the rest are not interested in the serious attacks on jews, such as that on baby Adele who is fighting for her life after a rock was thrown at her car. Asher Palmer's murder was similarly ignored by the world's press. When jews are attacked that is of no interest. If Israel or jews reply, then that is immediately a news item.

The msm will not publicize the true facts in Judea and Samaria, something that the 'low intensity conflict report' does.

Ynet similarly reproduced the 'victims' article thus:

Even had the wording been left as is, the journalists involved might have taken a few seconds to mention that the IHH 'charity' which organised the flotilla in the first place is an islamist terror organisation which also carries out turkish foreign policy. IHH has been involved in the chechniyan conflict, and is now involved in gun running to the islamist rebels in Syria.

"Free Syrian Army commanders have told The Times that a boat containing weapons that docked in Syria this week was registered to members of the IHH, which has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Michal Shmulovich who is writing for a website that is not known to be anti-Israel, can not claim to be ignorant of the facts, so why does she reproduce anti-Israel propaganda for the Times of Israel?  Does Michal Shmulovich care that she reposts stories designed to besmirch Israel, evidently not.

Is Michal Shmulovich proud of herself? More likely she's proud of her paycheck. Israel go hang.

Shmulovich can however claim that she is not alone, that as Ynet shows, nearly all israeli journalists are cut from the same cloth as herself. When a mosque was burned in Israel, arabs accused settlers, and of course israeli journalists, forgetting all their training, their duty to investigate, rushed to condemn their own country. The facts came out later as I and others wrote about, based mainly on the hard work of one israeli blogger.

The mosque burning had everything to do with arab crime, and nothing to do with Israel.

And Tuba Zangriya was not the only time this has happened. Many other incidents have routinely been blamed on jews, often by the Catholic Church representatives in Israel along with the New (anti-) Israel Fund stooges.

But rabbis and the Israeli President Peres and others had already joined in the chorus of condemnation, using the hated settlers as a scapegoat. They think that hatred of israel deflected onto jews of Judea and Samaria can protect Israel, but they are wrong. The only protection for Israel is to get the truth out about the jihad inspired campaign against it in the world, to inform the non jewish world that the so called 'palestinian'-Israel conflict is the conflict of western civilization against arab radical islamic barbarism.
Those who would bring down Israel have europe and the USA in their sights after the defeat of Israel.

When israeli journalists trouble to go to Judea and Samaria they report from the palestinian arab side showing a bias towards an enemy they don't even take the trouble understand.

Ideologically indoctrinated israeli journalists think that sacrificing jews living in the ancient jewish homelands of Judea and Samaria will bring peace closer. It won't. It will however bring closer the siting of missiles on the hills overlooking the narrow waist of Israel, along the destruction of their homes in Tel-Aviv.

Tell israeli liberals sitting in their cafes on Dizengoff streeet in Tel-Aviv that and they'll think you're mad. Who says that people learn from history. They don't.

Pallywood provocation industry didn't get their 'incident' this time

The shameless manipulation of children by palestinian arabs goes on. Here children spend a long time haranguing soldiers hoping that one will strike out whilst being filmed. To their credit the soldiers acted impeccably. 
The constant teaching of hatred for jews and the attempt to defame them is why arabs will never be successful in Judea and Samaria. 
Arabs in Judea and Samaria will never have a viable state not because Israel failed to offer them their freedom, but because the arabs there don't want to build but only to provoke, to destroy, to maim and to kill jews. 
Kol Hakavod (well done) to those soldiers to allowed themselves to be abused so whilst keeping their good humour. They should not have to put up with this level of abuse though. All the adults including those inciting the kids, especially those with the cameras who the encouragement for such provocations should have been arrested. 
Any foreigners found taking part in such incitement should be arrested and then deported. Hopefully once the new government is elected they will begin to act against participants in these staged incidents and those who are responsible for them.

A video that has been uploaded to Youtube shows how Arabs in Judea and Samaria abuse their own children and manipulate unwitting Israeli soldiers in order to manufacture photographs that can be used for propaganda purposes. The case in point is a situation that appears to have been masterfully directed by an unknown propagandist, starring a girl who was successfully used for the same purpose three months earlier.

In August, Arab propagandists produced photos of a soldier manhandling a crying Arab girl – an excellent illustration of the theme propagated by Israel's enemies, regarding Israel's allegedly evil military occupation of Judea and Samaria. The girl was blond and light-skinned to boot – making the photos more touching for many westerners, as she appeared to be "one of their own." The new video shows the girl in a similar situation, but this time it is plain to see what really goes on in these "photo ops."

The girl was obviously instructed to "get in the faces" of the soldiers, and spent a considerable amount of time cursing them, shouting herself hoarse and hitting them on occasion as well. At the same time, adults all around her were taping the occurrences, waiting for a soldier to lose his nerve. The staging of scenes for Israel-baiting is such a common Arab tactic in the Palestinian Authority that the industry has come to be known as "Pallywood." The most famous and successful Pallywood film ever made was that in which an Arab boy, Muhammad a-Durah, was placed in proximity to a Gaza firefight in 2000, and made to look as if he had been shot dead by IDF soldiers. Belated investigations showed that shots fired at a-Durah came from Arabs.

Ignoring a serious attack on christians contrasted with the arson of Latrun and the Tuba Zangriya mosque burning

A story I first wrote about a month ago has finally been picked up by a wider jewish press. Adam Levick of the excellent CIF Watch website berates (along with other websites) the  mass media's differentiated response when a small scale arson and grafiti involving no violence, can be, possibly, ascribed to jews,

and when a very serious attack on christians happens in Jerusalem.

Of course the Latrun arson became a cause celebre in aid of further demonising Israel and 'settlers' whereas this serious attack against christians, for the third time was ignored. I didn't expect anything else to happen, as the mass media likes to reserve its bile for jews.

My interest was rather in why the Catholic authorities in Israel were so eager to repress their own story, as they have done an article by ex Latin 'Patriarch' Michel Sabbah an apologist for suicide bombers. He has been in Gaza pleading with Hamas to go easy on christians, not to forcibly convert them. The article reporting his trip which lauds Hamas and berates Israel was buried in the German language:

In diesem Sinne sage ich zu allen islamischen Kräften und Bewegungen in Gaza: bleibt eurem Islam treu, aber verpflichtet euch, die Christen zu schützen, und sie nicht zu Muslimen zu machen. In this spirit (of brotherliness, respect etc) 

I say to all the islamic forces and groups in Gaza: remain true to your islam and take it upon yourselves to protect christians, and not to convert them to islam.

My conclusion, since proved by one Father Aridah is that these prelates are still the same, unreconstructed haters of jews. Israel is for them fair game even if Israel protects Catholics whilst christians are being attacked and slowly ethnically cleansed from Palestinian Authority areas, as happens everywhere else in the arab and muslim world. They care less for their persecuted bretheren than for attacking jews. Of course they hope that if the church shows its hostility to Israel, the Muslim Brotherhood and the PA along with other assorted muslim zealots will go easier on their people. It hasn't happened in history, hasn't happened in the last ten years in Iraq, Gaza and the PA territories and isn't likely to happen in future

As regards the Latrun 'price tag' arson, the CIF article says that:

"The desecration, thought to be perpetrated by an Israeli Jew angry over the evacuation of Migron in the West Bank........... "

I think we should be very wary of accepting this incident on face value. With Qana and 'poor' Muhammed Dura who was very much alive after his death, the 'rocketed ' ambulance along with very many other incidents invented for camera in mind, we need to realise that our enemies are constantly concocting provocations which the mass media, often alerted in advance will pick up and run with.

The children were used to stop the car that had just swerved to avoid them, and to stone it

 It is to me suspicious that a group of settlers would single out a christian institution for attack. Christians don't really register much on settler radar who see only the daily attacks by muslims upon them, through stonings of their cars, of attempted and successful stabbings, of infiltration of jewish villages in Judea and Samaria where the murderers never discriminate between young, sick or old. The attackers do however try to avoid the soldiers and the guards whilst going about their bloody work.

The foolish youths who go in for price tag attacks will head for the nearest arab village, not go miles out of their way at night to an obscure Latrun monastery quietly nestled out in the hills where they would be heard by the monks, reported and caught by a police patrol as they returned to the surfaced main road.

There was a previous arson attack in an arab village of Tuba Zangriya which was used to besmirch settlers: The reporting of the Tuba Zangriya attack was lapped up by Reuters amongst others, including the Israeli press, and even Peres condemned settlers for an attack which they didn't commit:

In the burning of the mosque to the ground, hebrew graffitti was used indicating a price tag attack. But all was not as it seemed. Whilst Israeli reporters recounted the arab version of what had happened in the same manner as did the mass media.

The Elder of Ziyon found that one Israeli blogger had investigated the scene and uncovered what really happened. She proved conclusively that the attack had nothing to do with jews, and everything to do with criminality in an arab village.

Firstly the Price tag inscription was written in carbon which meant that the perpetrators had waited around until the wood carbonized, not a clever thing to do if you are jewish and burning down a mosque far off the beaten track and in an arab village! Our israeli sleuth masterfully unveils the deception lapped up by the world's media. Of course here explanation has sunk without trace in the blogosphere.

 It took me a while to find the links to the Elder article. The search term that eventually got it was "elder of ziyon mosque burning." There are no other jewish blogs or new sites that after an hour of searching have seen fit to reproduce this material refuting another blood libel against settlers.

Questions about the mosque arson at Tuba Zangaria
Israeli blog "Brilliant Disguise" has an intriguing article about the burning of the mosque in Tuba Zangaria in October.

The author, Gal Chen, is not a settler or even a rightist. She is against the settlements. But when this "price tag" attack was reported in October, a number of things bothered her - so she started researching it.

The first thing she noticed is that the village has a history of violence, corruption, intra-clan feuds and smuggling. Two years ago the office of the Jewish head of the town council appointed by Israel's Interior Ministry was hit with a hail of bullets.

Chen went to Tuba Zangaria to see it for herself.

It is not an easy village to travel to, especially for any settlers. It is really two villages - Tuba on the bottom of the mountain and Zangaria on top. The only way to get to Zangaria is to go through Tuba.

The village itself is in the Galilee, not very close to Judea and Samaria.

In Tuba itself, the mosque is easily visible and accessible - but it was untouched. The arsonists apparently spent the extra ten minutes to go up the mountain to find a  much less prominent mosque to burn.

There are houses surrounding the mosque. Chen wondered how outsiders could have made it to this inaccessible mosque in a small village without residents noticing, as well as how no one smelled the smoke or heard the fire before it became so large.

Here is the graffiti that seemed to prove this was a "price tag" attack:

The words say "[Price] tag" "Palmer" "Revenge", referring to the murder of Asher Palmer and his son in September.

But Chen noticed that the words were not written with spray paint, as is usual with this sort of vandalism - but with charred wood from the fire itself. She wonders how the arsonists could have forgotten a can of spray paint.

Not only that, but the diagonal pattern of the graffiti indicates that it was written after the fire had already blackened the wall.

Chen asked the villagers how anyone could have driven to the village without being noticed. They admitted that they are vigilant to see strange vehicles, especially at night, and conjectured that the arsonists walked there from the fields.

Which would mean that they decided to carry gallons of gasoline up a mountain, filled with thorns and stones, to get to an inaccessible mosque, in a crime-ridden Galilee village, surrounded by houses, miles from Judea and Samaria. Residents who live next door did not notice the fire until about half of the mosque was burned and destroyed, and yet the criminals managed to wait there long enough for the fire to cool down so they could write "Price tag/Palmer/Revenge" afterwards.

A few days later, village youths set fire to the local council building - led by a retired IDF general - and he fled, fearing for his life.

Chen ends her post without any accusations, but wondering about how the Israeli media at the scene jumped to conclusions without asking any of these questions.

I'm not by nature paranoid, but Israel's enemies really are out to get it. With so much invention of 'crimes' by jews, we need a healthy skepticism, something Mr Peres amongst many other Israelis, especially journalists seems to be lacking.

So who actually carried out the burning of a monastery door in Latrun? There is every chance that it was the work of either a local arab or even one of the monks themselves. We need to understand the forces arrayed against Israel. They understand that thirst of the media for stories that demonise Israel, and there is very possibly at least one amongst the hebrew proficient Latin community who, possibly without his community's cognizance, is not loathe to help along the anti-Israel cause by way of a burned door and a little scribbling in hebrew.
