Who brutally beat the British prison officers, why?

It's interesting how the British media fall over themselves to disguise the fact that muslims commit crime, horrific ones at that. When a british soldier was slaughtered and then gave a jihadist rant this was voiced over on the video distributed on all the networks:

The missing bits ( in full):
By Allah, we swear by the almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. So what if we want to live by the Shari'a in Muslim lands? ... But we are forced by the Qur'an, in Sura At-Tawba, through many ayah in the Qu'ran, we must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
So today we have a guard being caught by three prisoners and beaten senseless, his life saved by a riot squad which stormed the attackers.

Nowhere in this report does it mention that the perpetrators are islamist extremists:
Police are investigating after prisoners at a maximum security jail kidnapped a guard for four hours and gave him a severe beating.

Three prisoners, two aged 25 and one aged 26, were believed to be involved in the attack, which is being investigated by counter-terrorism officers.

The guard suffered a broken cheek bone and was reportedly only freed after prison officers in riot gear stormed a cleaning room where he was held.
The report did include that muslim prisoners feel hard done by:
"However, despite satisfactory diversity structures, Muslim and black and minority ethnic prisoners reported much more negatively than their non-Muslim and white counterparts on a range of issues.

"The chaplaincy continued to provide a valued service, including working sensitively and effectively to support Muslim prisoners while challenging attempts at radicalisation."

Are these possibly the same prisoners who have been trying to kill 'kuffars' ('infidels'), who see the complaints system in prison as another means of continuing the war, somewhat as British prisoners of war would see their escape attempts as tying down the enemy forces?

Trying to obfuscate who the perpetrators are hasn't pulled the wool over the eyes of yahoo readers:

Oh My, Muslims have certainly perfected the art of complaining!
I hope the three involved suffered similar injuries during the rescue operation. This is taking the biscuit. It is not going to stop until this or another government grow a backbone and do what is need and wanted by the majority of... More

Not all Muslims are terrorists but most terrorists are Muslim. I don't understand why the Government allows the radicals to operate, effectively putting the entire public in constant danger and our security services under constant stress. It's madness.

The BBC can as usual go one better. The word 'muslim' is never mentioned as regards anything negative:
A prison officer has been taken hostage and attacked by three inmates at a maximum-security jail near York.
Whilst the report stressed that the hostage taking prisoners were:

"not in prison for terror-related offences".
The North East Counter Terrorism Unit is investigating what happened, and:

Michael Spurr, chief executive of the National Offender Management Service, said the terrorism unit was investigating the motives behind the incident.
It was left to one of the smaller provincial newspapers to spell out just who carried out the attack, and why:
MUSLIM extremist prisoners carried out an attack on a warder in a Yorkshire jail at the weekend, it was revealed this morning.

Three inmates held the warden hostage before stabbing him during a four-hour stand-off with guards on Sunday afternoon.
Reports said the attack at Full Sutton prison in Yorkshire was inspired by last week’s murder of Drummer Lee Rigby.

This morning it emerged that the victim was a former soldier. A leaked email, said to have been sent to all staff in the prison service, said the officer had been was chosen by the three Muslim inmates because of his links to the Armed Forces.

The email reads: “Three Muslim prisoners took an officer hostage in an office. Their demands indicated they supported radical Islamist extremism. “The officer taken was an ex-serviceman and, throughout the incident, threats were made to kill him.”

The incident is now being investigated by counter-terrorism officers.

A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: “An incident involving three prisoners took place at HMP Full Sutton on 26 May from 4.25pm and was successfully resolved at 8.40pm after staff intervened. A police investigation is ongoing.”

Newspaper reports initially claimed the attack was masterminded by the Muslim fanatic Parviz Khan, who is serving life a sentence for plotting to behead a British soldier, but a source said he was not being held at Full Sutton. Khan, from Birmingham, was jailed in 2008.

Latest Israeli appeasement: Arabs throwing rocks at you? Build a bridge

I used to drive my car from Jerusalem all the way through Ramallah, Nablus and Jenin up to the Galilee. It didn't occur to me that an arab would throw a rock at my car. This was until the first intifada in 1987 when on its first day, a badly aimed rock did hit my car when going through an arab town.

As sometimes happened I had earlier misread the map (easy to do as the roads in and out of arab villages although clearly marked on the map, were not distinguishable on the ground). Normally after a friendly greeting (in english, although the car's number plates were Israeli) an arab man would direct me. That day I had noticed a strange look in the man's eyes.

Of course there had been the odd terror attack which claimed the lives of jews, but the everyday terror didn't occur, a terror whereby jews travelling in Judea and Samaria or even past certain arab villages in Israel can expect barrages of rocks to come their way.

In those days arabs and jews in Judea and Samaria could freely mix. I would even stop my car and do some shopping in an arab town. To be sure I didn't take risks as the threat of terror was always there, but this generalized fear by jews of falling victim to arab terror when coming into arab sights in Judea and Samaria had not yet come about.

In those days there was a fear amongst arabs that if a jew was attacked, there would be a price to pay. These were the days when Israel cared for its own citizens' human rights above those of an aggressive and murderous arab enemy.

This was when the Israeli government and the average Israeli still remembered arab threats to exterminate all jews, and its earlier fears that maybe Israel was not strong enough to defend itself, to survive the arab onslaught. When Israel did survive, and spectacularly, arabs knew that when they attacked jews, they would always pay a price.

But nowadays Israel is well and truly on the back foot. Arabs riot in Judea and Samaria, they disrupt israeli roads with constant rock attacks interspersed with occasional rifle fire, they knife jews at will, frustrate the IDF patrols (with the aid of hundreds of european and US youths spending their gap year baiting jews) and generally make life a misery for people living in the ancient jewish homelands.

Britain had an answer in the 1930's. When arab terrorists would shoot up cars and murder travellers, a warning would be given to the village head, that if the attacks reoccurred, the village would be blown up. A terrible thing nowadays, collective punishment, a War Crime, a Crime Against Humanity, yet the threats worked, and the brutal arab terror of 1936-39 was prevented.

Jewish settlements continued to be attacked because the Haganah mostly kept to a policy of 'havlaga', of restraint, of only defending  jewish kibbutzim. Orde Wingate taught the jews the fallacy of this, instructing his jewish Special Night Patrols to wait outside arab villages to shoot up the armed terrorists as they left for their nightly attacks. The terror ceased, for a while, and then began again in 1947 for a while.

Now the terror is back because Israel is drunk on human rights, for its enemy. Instead of going into villages and making wholesale arrests of the leaders of these terror bands, of imprisoning the operatives and destroying their houses, the IDF is on full scale retreat. When firebombs and rocks are thrown at soldiers, they may only fire at the attackers if their lives are in certain and imminent danger. And many soldiers prefer to run away than fire their gun, for fear of causing an 'incident', of having to answer to their commander for an arab terrorist killed or wounded.

Where once orchards or houses being used to hide those who attacked jews would be bulldozed, the IDF will arrange convoys to pass them, or put armour plating on buses and cars.

This static defense policy is not just practised in Judea and Samaria but invades the minds of Israel's generals and policy makers. Israel must not do anything which will cause casualties amongst arabs, take away their 'human rights', or upset the world and its biased media.

So when attacked jews have to hunker down. Rather than take the war to the enemy and flush out the Hamas nests, Israel developed the Iron Dome, a system which although excellent, is also very expensive, and gives out the wrong message, the same one that jews in ghettos in Minsk and in Hebron in 1929 gave out, that to attack jews is a cost-free enterprise. You might not kill a jew today, might not have been able to batter down his door, but at least you can go home and rest, and then try it again tomorrow with your friends as you know exactly where the jew lives.

So now we have the idiocy of the IDF building a road so that jews in Judea and Samaria will be taken out of the range of stone throwers! Millions of dollars will be expended on a totally unnecessary road, because arab stone throwers use houses as cover to launch their attacks from.

Any sane mind would say such houses should be removed so that a clear zone can be created along the road, but no, Israeli tax payers must foot the bill for another act of appeasement. And arabs will find a new arena to attack jews from. And the jewish army will come up with another clever and expensive way to avoid any harm to arabs terrorizing jews.

Meanwhile the army and police crack down on jews who defend themselves, confiscating weapons and arresting those who fire in defense of their lives.

I sometimes wonder if Israel, fantastic country that it is, has a death wish or just wishes to have a fight for its very survival every few years.

When referring to arab states, Golda Meir once said that peace will come when arabs love their children more than they hate Israel.

Maybe this should be adapted to, peace with palestinian arabs will come when Israel loves its own people more than the exaggerated human rights those who commit terror against it.
------------
By the way, Hamas asked Egypt to cancel its peace treaty with Israel. Morsy would if his country wasn't in such dire straights. He called for jihad just before his election.

And Kerry wants Israel to make concessions to the arabs. Let him solve the Iraqi and Syrian bloodletting first, and show Israel that arab countries can keep their word, can last more than a few years, can live in peace with each other, never mind Israel.

British media suppresses the islamic motive of the barbaric terror attack in London

Who sent this jihadist to chop up a british soldier on a busy street in London? Which mosque did he attend? Which radical preacher did he learn from?
In 2001 Israel faced a wave of terror which killed and wounded 10,000 israelis for no other reason than being jewish in Israel. Of course many non jews, muslims and christians also suffered in the terror wave. The outbreak was largely due to the liberal world view of and long standing appeasement of Israel's enemies by Ehud Barak who cared more for what Israel's enemies would say, rather than protecting his people as prime minister. When Ariel Sharon came to power the situation whereby suicide bombers were setting off their bombs in israeli streets, cafes and restaurants every other day came to an end.

Rather than wait for the suicide bombers to come to Israel, Israel in operation 'Defensive Shield' went to Jenin and Ramallah and cleared out the terrorists' nests. When those training and sending the suicide bombers on their missions could not be arrested, they were killed. The Security Fence was also built to stop easy access to Israel for the suicide bombers, and the checkpoints were built. Under the intense pressure of Obama's administration most checkpoints have been removed so now there are only 12 of them. And Israelis are once again being killed on the roads of Judea and Samaria.

In winning the war against the terrorists in 2002, Israel gave a lesson those 'specialists' in the west who said that you can not win a terror war among an enemy population without bribing them, without 'nation building' them. Well we see where 'nation building' has got Nato in Afghanistan. Absolutely nowhere. The secret of Israel's success was excellent intelligence, and a will to act. Britain took longer, but similarly defeated IRA terror by infiltrating its organisation. Winning the war against the terrorists did not mean that Israel acts indiscriminately, just the opposite. Israel's operations were targeted only against those involved in terror. Arabs in Israel have always known that if they don't get involved in terror, the state doesn't get involved with them, it tries its best to spare their lives.  Even Israeli smart weapons were created to spare arab civilians, such as the bomb that can be shifted to another target in mid-air if civilians are spotted near a terror target.
Israel's 'dummy bomb', an inert bomb was not so successful as when warned, civilians would then crowd the target with human shields knowing Israel would not launch an attack.

So now to the Woolwich terror attack. Britain has been lucky until now with the horror of terror on its streets being mostly prevented by its security forces.Britain has never faced the full wrath of jihad on its streets. This is partly because jihad does not always need to be violent. Demographic jihad also has its place, and with 10% of babies born in the UK now being muslim and with the commonest name for children now being 'Muhammad', Britain is well on its way to becoming another muslim country. If that's what the British people want then all well and good. But British people who are generally very tolerant should know that all muslim countries are intolerant of minorities, and many have islam written into their constitutions. Christianity is barely tolerated in most muslim countries and in them it is often very dangerous to be a christian. Is that what British people want, to be slowly forced to adopt other cultures and the muslim religion?

Whatever British people want, they should see that muslims in Britain are themselves protected from the extremism of the wahabite Saudi radical preachers. If integration rather than 'multi-culturalism' was promoted then there would be little to complain about. When jews came to the UK they assimilated culturally whilst keeping their religion in the home. But islam is a supremacist ideology, and if the host culture is not careful then shariah law, its intolerance and its punishments will follow once muslims become a majority. Already intolerance stalks London's streets with 'muslim patrols' enforcing sharia zones near mosques, where women are told how to dress and where alcohol may not be carried in the street, where muslim women are stripped of their rights in 'voluntary' shariah courts.

Shariah intolerance and islamic supremacism is what the Woolwich terror attack was about, of two violent men who instead of having their limited intelligence and their strength being channeled into something positive such as gardening or stacking shelves in Wallmart (Asda in the UK) or Tesco's, were taught in their saudi financed mosque to hate the society which paid them their benefits, where they learned that a good muslim should "strike the neck of the infidel" (47:4), and strike they did.

As usual the British liberal media jumped to cover up the islamic nature of such an awful crime. The BBC buried the fact that the terrorist chanted 'Allah Akbar'  many paragraphs down in its report of the attack. The BBC 'analysis' was predictable, that Britain is to blame, " basic principle that they (jihadists) oppose a Western presence in the Islamic world". Maybe the BBC would like to explain the gruesome bombings of shia against sunni and vice versa in Iraq? The lust for blood can be sated for all manner of reasons, all manner of invented grievances. But of course British journalists swallow these grievances hook line and sinker, as long as they are directed against Israel or western 'imperialism'. Islamic supremacism and imperialism is never mentioned. That might offend, and once offended certain people get violence. The liberal British version of the 'cycle of violence.'

Even the terrorist wearing black shouting Allah Akbar and talking about 'good Ayas' in favor of jihad at the beginning of the video was given a voice over to disguise the islamic nature of his rantings. Only when the terrorist began spouting off about the British army invading other countries was he allowed to be heard, because this is part of the British liberal credo.

But then Israel gets this sort of distortion as part of the normal treatment by the mass media. I looked all over youtube for the video of the terrorist dressed in black ranting without the voiceover, but only jihadwatch had it.
 Here’s what he said:
We swear by Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you. The only reasons we have done this is because Muslims are dying every day. This British soldier is an eye for an eye a tooth for tooth. We apologise that women had to see this today but in our lands our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you.
The yahoo account neglected to mention the bit about, "We swear by Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you."
"They apparently encouraged passers-by to video them.  One of the alleged attackers was filmed wielding a bloodied meat cleaver, saying:  "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you," he said.
The first mention in the yahoo account of islam was in paragraph eight, to allow a denial by the group one of the terrorists belonged to:
Anjem Choudary, the former leader of banned Islamic group al Muhajiroun, said he knew one of the alleged attackers but had not seen him for about two years.
Yahoo mentions the islamic side only in paragraph twelve:
Two suspected Muslim fanatics attacked the man in the street a short distance from the Royal Artillery Barracks after apparently knocking him down with their car.
So the evidence of the islamic motive was in part selected out, voiced over, and buried deep in an article about. And of course the perpetrators are allowed full reign to distort their hateful crimed, to state their own victimhood status, that this poor soldier 'had it coming', that the 'sins' of the British are responsible for pushing poor muslims into doing such terrible acts.

Exactly the sort of treatment the media gives habitually to Israel. At least there is until now no 'Pallywood' involvement, whereby news is invented.

It's interesting that the media will mention if a christian or jew act unsocially. The media loves to repeat versions of the mantra of 'right wing jewish extremist'. Usually those 'extremists' are caught defending themselves from arab rock throwers, but of course the arab rock throwing will be edited out in the versions for youtube. Thankfully the IDF and jews of Judea and Samaria are slowly learning to take their own videos of confrontations. Not nearly enough are made or posted to youtube.

So Britain after its security forces frustrated many hundreds of islam inspired terror attacks in the last few years has had another one. Sadly the lesson will not be learned.

The only way to defeat these jihadist terrorists is to go to the source, to close down radical mosques, madrassas and schools, and deport radical islamic preachers, usually emanating from Saudi Arabia or Pakistan back to their countries of origin.

Britain (along with other west european countries and the USA) won't do this, and that is why a large and growing proportion of Britain's muslim communities are being radicalized. We can only wait for the next islamic inspired terror attack to happen on Britain's streets, because happen it will.

Will the British people ever learn? It's hard to say with such biased media, indoctrinated in their universities to a particular world view of the West being forever at fault. Polls in Britain and europe consistently show Israel as being seen as akin to Iran, at the very bottom of the league, when it comes to human rights. The perversion of the truth is almost total, but after many years of spoonfeeding of arab propaganda, rehashed and 'soundbited' by western media, it's understandable.

So the media message is Britain is to blame. How predictable.

Arabs are beginning to admit that palestinians are a fake people (invented so as to destroy Israel)

That Palestine is Jordan has been understood since the 1950's by those not beholden to the arab cause of destroying Israel. There never was a 'Palestine', never was a people called 'palestinians', and there are no palestinian family names. 'Palestinian' culture is arab culture, no different, ditto their food, ditto the way they treat women and gays (kill them).

Whenever arabs have held Gaza or Judea and Samaria, there was never a demand for self-autonomy or independence from those places. Only when Israel in its defensive war of 1967 re-conquer those territories did the 'palestinians' emerge.

Whenever pal arabs get the chance to have another citizenship they grab it, as they themselves don't believe in a nationality foisted upon them. That arab governments will not allow arabs from the former British Mandated areas to have other arab citizenship is a matter for the arabs to sort out amongst themselves.

The bottom line is, that Israel must prevent arabs in Judea and Samaria from grabbing any more land from Israel. If arabs in those areas wish for nationality, let them take Jordanian citizenship.
If arabs in areas of Judea and Samaria which have already given away by Israel wish to become independent, then all well and good, but then it does not mean that Israel owes them anything, not land, not access to Israel or its markets, nothing. Let them look east to Jordan, or Iraq or ............

By:  Geoffrey Aronson for Al-Monitor

A recent visitor to Amman reports some senior Jordanians declaring openly that “there never was a place called Palestine. There is no such thing as Palestine, only Jordan.” Such sentiments, while still a minority view, mark a sea change in the long-standing Jordanian deference to the PLO on developments west of the Jordan River. According to one Palestinian, such views are being encouraged by some voices in Fatah, who fear Hamas' baton more than Amman's reluctant embrace, and who no doubt believe, as many veterans in Fatah do, that all it will take to turn Jordan into Palestine is a Palestinian decision to do so.

“Jordan is Palestine” is the mirror image of  “Palestine is Jordan." Jordanians identified with the latter are not contemplating a confederal agreement between respective Jordanian and and Palestinian states, but rather the restoration of Jordan's uncontested place in Jerusalem and the West Bank on the eve of the June 1967 war.

The ruler of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is not to be envied. History and geography have played a cruel trick on the leader of this unlikely country. He is squeezed between more powerful and often warring parties, presiding over a population of subjects thrown together by war and circumstance. To its credit, Jordan has succeeded more often than it has failed to construct a popular and workable, if fragile sense of national identity shared by disparate Palestinian and Transjordanian communities during the last nine decades. However, the self-immolation of Syria, Fatah’s failure to end Israel's occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the uncertain promise of the Arab Spring are posing new and unprecedented challenges for King Abdullah II, whose head lies ever uneasy on the royal throne.

The feasting on the corpse that was once Syria poses the most immediate challenge to Jordan, and it was at the heart of recent discussions during the King's recent visit to Washington in the last week of April. But Jordan's cascading problem managing the fallout from Syria complements the more essential challenge that has always been uppermost in the mind of Jordan's political elite as well as its growing Islamic opposition. This challenge, of course, relates to the Palestinian dimension of Jordan's national identity, and the King's ability to manage this without his Hashemite or Transjordanian identity suffering as a consequence.

The news could be better, but it could also be worse

In the Islamic World War now gearing up at the syrian fault line the news is not all bad.

On the minus side, Israel has been forced to intervene multiple times recently in a war it very much wished to keep out of. Israel's bombing of Syria has had the effect of bringing Russia to show its hand by supplying the dreaded S300 anti-air missile system to Syria, and to station a fleet of ships off the coast of Syria. The war being waged in Syria is now recognized by most observers as having an extreme islamic nature on either side. The formerly much vaunted FSA is little more than a front for jihadists, little different, if at all to the fanatics of al Nusra financed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Russia, as with Iran and Hezbollah was forced to take sides in a conflict it did not want. Russia would dearly like to remain as previously the weapons supplier and sleeping partner of the Syrian regime, but Iran has forced Russia's hand through the reaction by Israel to its attempted transfers of advanced missiles to its representatives in Lebanon, Hezbollah, via the good offices of Assad.

Iran and Hezbollah have been dragged into this conflict in support of their alawite ally, forced to support the regime that has killed many thousands of sunnis inside Syria for the last two years. No longer can Hezbollah make any pretense at being the 'resistance' to Israel (this in any case was just a fig leaf for Iranian aggression against Israel, certainly since Israel's withdrawal from Lebanese territory in 2000). The Iranians and Hezbollah also dearly wished to avoid this fight, their main love being to kill jews of Israel, but fight this war they must. And as I predicted a number of times in the past two years, this war is slowly intensifying, burning surely and at times with great intensity such as in the present battles for Qusayr.

And as I have previously stated, no side can win this war. The stakes are too high for both sunnis and shia. They have the treasure and the arms to keep a war going indefinitely.

The USA should not have become involved, but it did, and has done no good. The USA thought it would supply the syrian rebels through the offices of islamist Turkey and Qatar and only helped to deepen the radical islamic nature of this conflict rather than help depose Assad.

Even had the USA kept its nose out of this, the islamization of the conflict was probably inevitable. It might just have happened at a slower pace. The Newtonian Law that every action has an equal and opposite reaction should have been considered by Obama, but he has his own agenda, to counterbalance Iran whilst keeping the USA out of taking direct action. From a humanitarian viewpoint this was a mistake. The USA should not have backed any side, not have intervened at all, unless in a fit of principled humanity it was to try and train a secular alliance within Syria. This would most likely have been doomed to fail, as with the mujahideen who were slaughtered when Khomeini came to power in Iran. The Baathists were the true secularists, until they hitched their wagon to Iran.

The USA can rarely get things right when intervening in the middle east, and Obama has been the most spectacular failure ever, unless radicalizing the region was his plan from the beginning. Obama's policy  has been of building a sunni counterweight to Iran via the Muslim Brotherhood, salafists, assorted islamic extreme groups and countries along with neo Ottomanist islamist Turkey. The plan has succeeded, although it was in any case in formation in the last years. The stage is set for a prolonged and bitter fight that might very possibly last very many years. As I predicted last year, Lebanon is now being sucked in, slowly but surely. Over the weekend the Lebanese army came into play, and the fighting is right on the border of Lebanon. And firefights seem to be breaking out with greater frequency in Tripoli and elsewhere.

The rock of Iran (and its ally Assad and proxy Hezbollah) has hit the hard sunni world, a world unforgiving of those they see as apostates threatening their very regimes.  A world full of extremist madrassas with students just longing to become involved in the fight against the shia 'heretics', as they see them.

The USA and Russia should sit this one out as it has little to do with them, and much to do with islam.
But the USA and Russia will not sit on the sidelines, more pity for the region, and also for Israel, although it might continue to be spared direct involvement.

Israel has been the wisest actor in the region, keeping its cool, growling menacingly and acting firmly when its interests are threatened or missiles, mortars or even bullets come over the border on the Golan Heights. Hamas learned last November that the rules have changed, that Israel will no longer tolerate its border communities being terrorized with missiles on every sabbath morning, when children go to or leave their classrooms, on every national or jewish holiday when the rest of Israel is celebrating. That message has gone home and Hamas is keeping the border mostly quiet, after having denied for years that it could do this. Assad too can not fail to have noticed the firming up of Israel's defense posture.

Israel's new defense posture is the only realistic one in a tough neighbourhood, and one which impresses an arab world let down terribly by this effete American administration. Just to ram home the message, Netanyahu appointed Moshe Yaalon as defense minister, a no nonsense man prepared to fight fire with fire, as we see from the various bonfires Israel set over Damascus lately. Assad knows that if he is seen to be transferring game changing technology into Lebanon, he will invite attack from Israel. So far Assad's response has been close to nil, knowing that Israel unlike the USA is now after years of unsuccessful appeasement of its arab neighbours, now prepared to go all out to protect its vital interests. Israeli actions have brought Russia into the neighbourhood, but Russia knows there is little it can do in effect if Israel is determined to protect its interests, and Israel leaves little room for doubt about that nowadays.

Russia's Putin is a cold hearted, brutal yet calculating ex KGB General. He will not be interested in going head to head with Israel. Once upon a time the USA put its nuclear assets on alert when Russia threatened to intervene massively, to attack Israel directly. Putin knows this can't happen under an Obama administration, but then Israel is not the country of 1967 or 1973. Russian warships would most likely end up in Davy Jones' locker within minutes of beginning hostilities with Israel. Very possibly Israel already has the answer to the S300 missiles. Russia's best engineers did emigrate to Israel, and Israel is if maybe not the world's premier electronic superpower, it is second only to the USA.

So Russia has sailed its gunboats to make the point that it also has interests regarding Syria, will supply the S300 and let the sunni world know that it is firmly in the shia orbit. This is not necessarily a good policy for Russia to take, but it long ago chose Baathist Syria as its ally and it now has little choice but to support it. Russia is however mistaken in being so closely allied to Syria. Like Iran and Hezbollah, it has made its position all too clear.

And for Hezbollah the results are all too plain to see. Hezbollah is now in the fight of its life, a fight it can not win. As Hezbollah gets drained of blood, it will need to call for reinforcements from Iran. It is hard to see Lebanese shiites apart from Hezbollah radicals having a large stomache for fighting in Syria. Iran is going to have to send its cohorts in ever greater numbers into the killing fields of Syria. And as the shi'ites up the ante, so will sunnis, and this will be the end of Lebanon, just as Syria no longer exists in anything but name.

As I said before, Germany needed an awful bloodletting to pound its imperialist and racist nazi ideology out of it. Since Frederick the Great Prussia-Germany developed a militarized society that glorified death and destruction to others, a message we are wont to hear from radical muslims.

But there will come a point, a tipping point when muslims as with Germany will forget their glorification of jihad, of conquest, of murdering the infidel, and just wish to sit at home with the family, in a chair without fear of being shot. This point is not near, it is not even on the horizon. For such a radical ideology of jihad that is encompassed in the Qur'an  to be overcome in islamist societies, the bloodletting will need to be such that every family, just as in  Germany can claim a victim or more.

Almost every family in Germany had children without fathers, people mutilated in many and various ways. Almost every large town in Germany received one or more visits from USAF or RAF bombers. Terror,  Totalkrieg and Blitzkrieg might have been fun when being dished out by the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe, but when good german families never knew when they might receive a night time thousand bomber visit courtesy of 'bomber Harris' the lust for war slowly became a terror of war.

Germany is now the most pacifistic nation on earth.

I look forwards to a time when arab and other countries in the islamic world such as Iran are similarly peaceful, lusting after peace. But they have an ideology that needs to be beaten out of them, slowly and surely in such a manner that for generations muslims will know the evils of war. The lesson must be leaerned that nobody wins from war. This lesson is now in process of being realized, in a terrible but necessary manner.

The fascist Qur'anic ideology of Jihad will not burn itself out overnight. The Islamic World War has only just begun. Psychologists talk of 'overlearning' as being the best means to cement knowledge in memory. The arab world needs this cruel 'overlearning' to extirpate wahabism and shia extremism and all the other islamic forms of fascism.

Pity the innocent children who have to suffer because of the sins of their fathers, of a fascist creed they learned from genocidal preachers and which they are now trying to  put into effect. Sadly this war must be waged, experienced and above all remembered for the lessons of peace and coexistence to be learned.

"The Prophet, Allah bless him, "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews)"

Islamic Jihad Nursery School Training In Hatred of Jews

Only by reading the Hamas founding Covenant is it possible to understand the intensity of Hamas' hatred of Israel, why after Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2007 Hamas did not end the conflict with Israel, but instead increased its attacks, sending thousands of missiles against Israel's border communities.

It is essential to understand islam in the light of the waves of misinformation put out about the 'religion of peace' by western apologists for that religion. Hamas kindly helps in coming to that understanding by way of its founding covenant.

Israel withdrew from Gaza after great soul searching and at great cost to the inhabitants of jewish towns. There was a great national rift, and the pain among the uprooted communities is still intense. Many lives fell apart after Israel pulled out, a great sacrifice of flourishing communities in the vain hope this would buy peace for Israel.

For Hamas Israel is a usurper which must be extirpated from 'holy islamic Waqf lands', all of them. Palestine does not mean the West Bank or Gaza, but Tel-Aviv, Haifa, Sderot, Jerusalem, Tiberias and Tsefat. As has always been the case with the palestinian arabs and Hamas, Israel must cease to exist for the so-called 'occupation' to come to an end. Even if Israel were heaven forbid to shrink to one kibbutz and one small town, these both would need to be destroyed for the 'occupation' in arab minds to come to an end.

Under the koran jews and christians can only live in islamic lands with the status of a dhimmi, whilst paying the jizya poll tax. Under islam jews and christians are tolerated only when they permit themselves to live in a situation of humiliation, recognizing the superiority of islam and paying obeisance.

Israel being the Jewish State in lands once occupied and controlled by muslims of the Ottoman Empire means that it must be destroyed.

The Hamas Covenant goes into all this, and from the quotes below, you will see that any possibilities mentioned by journalists about 'new' offers to make peace with Israel are hollow. Hamas has never, ever offered to make peace with Israel, just to have truces, for longer or shorter periods. Hamas never loses sight of its own goals, even if well meaning journalists and even otherwise seasoned israeli diplomats and generals do.

This is in line with Koranic precept that when a foe is superior to muslims militarily, then periods of truce, however long they may be, are allowed. Muslims take the long view, and remember history, when the Crusaders were after over a hundred years of occupation of the Holy Land extirpated from the area. There is no need for peace when you have such a long time scale in mind. You just have to bide your time.

With this in mind arabs themselves must be given not one inch more of Israel's ancient homelands. Every time Israel gives away land this is seen as a sign of weakness and Israel receives not peace, but further demands and attacks.

Giving away territory does not bring peace nearer, but further away. A weakened Israel invites not peaceful neighbours, but neighbours who will more often be tempted to try one more time to make war and defeat Israel finally and utterly.

Read the excerpts below from the Hamas charter (from the Yale Law School ) and understand why there can be no peace with Hamas (or indeed for that matter with their arab bretheren as long as they tie themselves to the mast of the islamic 'umma'),  just longer or shorter interludes in the conflict.

The stronger Israel is militarily, the longer will be the periods of peace.

Ariel Sharon should have closely read the Hamas Covenant before he gave away the strategically placed Gush Katif jewish settlements protecting Israel.

-----------------------------------------------------

Hamas Founding Covenant (Excerpts):

They (Oops- i.e. Jews) are smitten with vileness wheresoever they are found; unless they obtain security by entering into a treaty with Allah, and a treaty with men; and they draw on themselves indignation from Allah, and they are afflicted with poverty. This they suffer, because they disbelieved the signs of Allah, and slew the prophets unjustly; this, because they were rebellious, and transgressed." (Al-Imran - verses 109-111).

Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it" (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory).” (Oops-Al Banna was a convinced nazi collaborator and founder of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Whilst the British army and many jewish soldiers from Mandatory Palestine prepared to fight the nazis, Al Banna and his gang was spying and preparing their welcome for the soon to be victorious Afrika Korps )

Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious.

Article Two:

The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine.

Article Six:
It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine

Article Seven:
The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:
"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).

Article Eight:

Allah is its target, the Prophet is its model, the Koran its constitution: Jihad is its path and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.

Article Eleven:

The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up.

Any procedure in contradiction to Islamic Sharia, where Palestine is concerned, is null and void

Article Thirteen:

Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Abusing any part of Palestine is abuse directed against part of religion. Nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its religion. Its members have been fed on that. For the sake of hoisting the banner of Allah over their homeland they fight. "Allah will be prominent, but most people do not know."

Now and then the call goes out for the convening of an international conference to look for ways of solving the (Palestinian) question. Some accept, others reject the idea, for this or other reason, with one stipulation or more for consent to convening the conference and participating in it. Knowing the parties constituting the conference, their past and present attitudes towards Moslem problems, the Islamic Resistance Movement does not consider these conferences capable of realising the demands, restoring the rights or doing justice to the oppressed. These conferences are only ways of setting the infidels in the land of the Moslems as arbitraters. When did the infidels do justice to the believers?
"But the Jews will not be pleased with thee, neither the Christians, until thou follow their religion; say, The direction of Allah is the true direction. And verily if thou follow their desires, after the knowledge which hath been given thee, thou shalt find no patron or protector against Allah." (The Cow - verse 120).

There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with. As in said in the honourable Hadith:
"The people of Syria are Allah's lash in His land. He wreaks His vengeance through them against whomsoever He wishes among His slaves It is unthinkable that those who are double-faced among them should prosper over the faithful. They will certainly die out of grief and desperation."

Article Fourteen:

The question of the liberation of Palestine is bound to three circles: the Palestinian circle, the Arab circle and the Islamic circle. Each of these circles has its role in the struggle against Zionism. Each has its duties, and it is a horrible mistake and a sign of deep ignorance to overlook any of these circles. Palestine is an Islamic land which has the first of the two kiblahs (direction to which Moslems turn in praying), the third of the holy (Islamic) sanctuaries, and the point of departure for Mohamed's midnight journey to the seven heavens (i.e. Jerusalem).

Article Fifteen:

The day that enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In face of the Jews' usurpation of Palestine, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised. To do this requires the diffusion of Islamic consciousness among the masses, both on the regional, Arab and Islamic levels. It is necessary to instill the spirit of Jihad in the heart of the nation so that they would confront the enemies and join the ranks of the fighters.

It is necessary to instill in the minds of the Moslem generations that the Palestinian problem is a religious problem, and should be dealt with on this basis. Palestine contains Islamic holy sites.

The Role of the Moslem Woman:

Article Seventeen:

The Moslem woman has a role no less important than that of the moslem man in the battle of liberation. She is the maker of men. Her role in guiding and educating the new generations is great. The enemies have realised the importance of her role. They consider that if they are able to direct and bring her up they way they wish, far from Islam, they would have won the battle. That is why you find them giving these attempts constant attention through information campaigns, films, and the school curriculum, using for that purpose their lackeys who are infiltrated through Zionist organizations under various names and shapes, such as Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, espionage groups and others, which are all nothing more than cells of subversion and saboteurs. These organizations have ample resources that enable them to play their role in societies for the purpose of achieving the Zionist targets and to deepen the concepts that would serve the enemy. These organizations operate in the absence of Islam and its estrangement among its people. The Islamic peoples should perform their role in confronting the conspiracies of these saboteurs. The day Islam is in control of guiding the affairs of life, these organizations, hostile to humanity and Islam, will be obliterated.

Article Twenty-Seven:
The Islamic nature of Palestine is part of our religion and whoever takes his religion lightly is a loser.

Article Twenty-Eight:

The Zionist invasion is a vicious invasion. It does not refrain from resorting to all methods, using all evil and contemptible ways to achieve its end. It relies greatly in its infiltration and espionage operations on the secret organizations it gave rise to, such as the Freemasons, The Rotary and Lions clubs, and other sabotage groups. All these organizations, whether secret or open, work in the interest of Zionism and according to its instructions. They aim at undermining societies, destroying values, corrupting consciences, deteriorating character and annihilating Islam. It is behind the drug trade and alcoholism in all its kinds so as to facilitate its control and expansion.

We should not forget to remind every Moslem that when the Jews conquered the Holy City in 1967, they stood on the threshold of the Aqsa Mosque and proclaimed that "Mohammed is dead, and his descendants are all women."

Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Moslem people. "May the cowards never sleep."

Article Thirty-One:

Under the wing of Islam, (Oops-Euphemism for Jews and Christians being able to live amongs muslims with Dhimmi status and accepting the payment of the Jizzya) it is possible for the followers of the three religions - Islam, Christianity and Judaism - to coexist in peace and quiet with each other. Peace and quiet would not be possible except under the wing of Islam. Past and present history are the best witness to that.

It is the duty of the followers of other religions to stop disputing the sovereignty of Islam in this region, because the day these followers should take over there will be nothing but carnage, displacement and terror. Everyone of them is at variance with his fellow-religionists, not to speak about followers of other religionists. Past and present history are full of examples to prove this fact.

The Zionist Nazi activities against our people will not last for long. "For the state of injustice lasts but one day, while the state of justice lasts till Doomsday."

Article Thirty-Two:

World Zionism, together with imperialistic powers, try through a studied plan and an intelligent strategy to remove one Arab state after another from the circle of struggle against Zionism, in order to have it finally face the Palestinian people only. Egypt was, to a great extent, removed from the circle of the struggle, through the treacherous Camp David Agreement. They are trying to draw other Arab countries into similar agreements and to bring them outside the circle of struggle.

The Islamic Resistance Movement calls on Arab and Islamic nations to take up the line of serious and persevering action to prevent the success of this horrendous plan, to warn the people of the danger eminating from leaving the circle of struggle against Zionism. Today it is Palestine, tomorrow it will be one country or another. The Zionist plan is limitless. After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. (Ooops- The logic here totally falls away. After saying that the 'zionists' try to make peace with arab states so as to have the palestinian arabs isolated, suddenly Israel is interested in making war with the whole region.)When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"(Oops- A notorious Tsarist forgery that supposedly showed that jews rule the world. The Nazis believed in the Protocols and they are now to be found everywhere in the arab and islamic world. The protocols may even be bought in London), and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying.

Leaving the circle of struggle with Zionism is high treason, and cursed be he who does that. "for whoso shall turn his back unto them on that day, unless he turneth aside to fight, or retreateth to another party of the faithful, shall draw on himself the indignation of Allah, and his abode shall be hell; an ill journey shall it be thither." (The Spoils - verse 16). There is no way out except by concentrating all powers and energies to face this Nazi, vicious Tatar invasion. The alternative is loss of one's country, the dispersion of citizens, the spread of vice on earth and the destruction of religious values. Let every person know that he is responsible before Allah, for "the doer of the slightest good deed is rewarded in like, and the does of the slightest evil deed is also rewarded in like."

The Islamic Resistance Movement consider itself to be the spearhead of the circle of struggle with world Zionism and a step on the road. The Movement adds its efforts to the efforts of all those who are active in the Palestinian arena. Arab and Islamic Peoples should augment by further steps on their part; Islamic groupings all over the Arab world should also do the same, since all of these are the best-equipped for the future role in the fight with the warmongering Jews.

Article Thirty-Five:

The Islamic Resistance Movement views seriously the defeat of the Crusaders at the hands of Salah ed-Din al-Ayyubi and the rescuing of Palestine from their hands, as well as the defeat of the Tatars at Ein Galot, breaking their power at the hands of Qataz and Al-Dhaher Bivers and saving the Arab world from the Tatar onslaught which aimed at the destruction of every meaning of human civilization. The Movement draws lessons and examples from all this. The present Zionist onslaught has also been preceded by Crusading raids from the West and other Tatar raids from the East. Just as the Moslems faced those raids and planned fighting and defeating them, they should be able to confront the Zionist invasion and defeat it. This is indeed no problem for the Almighty Allah, provided that the intentions are pure, the determination is true and that Moslems have benefited from past experiences, rid themselves of the effects of ideological invasion and followed the customs of their ancestors.

Professor Stephen Hawking & the boycott

I must admit this morning to having been upset to hear that the good professor Hawking had decided to cancel his visit to Israel, and issue an anti-Israel statement via the bad offices of an organisation BRICUP, dedicated to the destruction of Israel.

Why was I upset about the professor, and not about the other assorted idiots and anti-semites who boycott Israel?

Well maybe not just at the unfairness of it, but maybe as one person who has fought against terrible odds to achieve great things, Stephen Hawking Professor might have had some sympathy with a whole people who have done the same, a people who after having been ethnically cleansed from their lands originally, had a Holocaust on them, and ethnic cleansing repeated again last century in europe and in arab lands.

I thought that great thinker he is, he might sympathized with jews like himself succeeding against terrible odds despite being among other British people who after years of indoctrination are amongst the worst culprits in the hate fest against Israel.

I don't blame the average Briton, they are after all assailed on all sides by the arab lobby, by the historically antagonistic BBC and other mass media which pump out on a daily basis, biased news about the Arab-Israel conflict. In Britain (as also in the USA) saudi money corrupts british diplomats, foreign office and civil service denizens, who know that lucrative posititions await them on the boards of companies and arab financed 'think tanks' once they retire as long as they toe the arab line. George Galloway is only the most public of such people in Britain with his nose deeply sunk in the arab and iranian trough.

The USA is one of the countries that is still a true friend of the Jewish People (Obama & co excepted, however much they protest the opposite, 'by your deeds shall ye be known'). And the American people are more in sympathy with Israel than at any time, seemingly largely immune to that 'eternal hatred', which Theodor Herzl the founder of zionism likened to a 'virus'. That hatred infests europe as we see in France, Sweden, Hungary and Greece to mention the main areas of concern at the moment.

Jimmy Carter with his boots weighed down by arab gold can think of no other country than Israel to affix the 'apartheid' epithet to ( strangely enough 'human rights' advocate Carter has never uttered one tiny hint of criticism against his saudi paymasters, not for gender apartheid, not for arrests, tortures and murders of christians, of gay people, nothing at all).

The man who began the nazi inspired boycott of Israel is actually an arab Israeli who studies for his Phd at Tel Aviv University. The hypocrisy of urging others to boycott Israel whilst yourself benefiting from advanced studies at an Israeli university is lost on Mr Omar Barghouti.

Arabs like Omar Barghouti and Raed Saleh take everything they can from democratic Israel, all the trappings of a modern welfare state, whilst returning nothing, whilst trying to destroy, as an arab might say, 'the well they are drinking from.' Of course there are many hundreds, maybe thousands of arabs in Israel to whom this doesn't apply. But the fact is that arabs pay very few taxes and do not in the main do national service or serve in the army. They do however insist on and receive fully equal treatment with Israelis who pay their taxes and defend the country. There are moves afoot in Israel to address this with a form of national service at long last.

Anyone who saw Netanyahu's welcome in Congress last year can not fail to be impressed by the love that americans have for Israel. The USA is truly a blessed nation, with a blessed people, even that people sometimes picks the strangest of leaders.

But then i'm back to the professor. Why is he boycotting Israel?

Because he isn't. The boycotters were lying. As throughout our history, our enemies stop at nothing to besmirch us and to claim false victories. Now isn't that a surprise?

Professor  Stephen Hawking is not well, so refuah shelema professor, get better soon.

UPDATE 9TH May: After the situation finally cleared it seems Professor  Stephen Hawking prefers to join the ranks of Israel's enemies. As one door closes, another opens with Netanyahu's business trip to China. Unlike the UK with its once world class universities (4 of Israel's computer teaching centers are ranked in the world top 30, as opposed to one in Britain), China is eager to do business with Israel.

For those interested in the ramifications of boycotting Israel, as opposed to any of the truly apartheid arab countries (take your pick, they're all cut from the same cloth, all abuse or have in recent memory, ethnically cleansed and killed christians) read this:
Tim Harcourt From:The Australian May 07, 2013

TARGETING Israel by boycotting products and people with Israeli connections is not only misguided but counterproductive to trade, international relations and peace between Israel, the Palestinians and Arab nations.

Much of this activity takes place on university campuses, particularly the University of Sydney and the University of NSW, where we saw a small but tense protest against the opening of a Max Brenner chocolate shop.

Putting aside that Jewish shops were targeted in 1933 by the Nazis in Germany, and we wouldn't expect one to be targeted in Australia in 2013 (not to mention the virulent anti-Semitic comments made on social media), what about the economics of the boycott?

If we boycotted all goods, services or individuals with Israeli connections, what would that mean at UNSW?

Many medicines are manufactured by Israel's Teva Pharmaceuticals, the largest generic drugs company in the world. AZT and hypericin-based drugs that help HIV and AIDS sufferers were developed or improved following research at the Weizmann Institute of Science or the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Sufferers of diabetes would not be able to use insulin measuring and injecting devices created by Israeli scientists. Patients with multiple sclerosis would be denied Copaxone, one of the most efficient medicines and the only non-interferon agent, developed by Teva. Ditto for sufferers of Parkinson's disease, strokes, Alzheimer's, epilepsy, glaucoma or brain tumour, or those in need of a kidney transplant. But hey, it's all for a good cause.

UNSW would also have to remove all Intel Pentium and Celeron computer processor chips from personal computers, as these were developed or manufactured in Israel. Anti-virus software and personal firewalls would also need to be removed. Computers running Windows XP operating systems were developed in Israel. All Microsoft operating systems would have to be boycotted, as Microsoft is heavily reliant on its Israeli research and development centre.

Likewise for mobile phones, as this technology was developed in Israel, where the first mobile phones were manufactured.

In agriculture, we'd have to give up products that use irrigation and agricultural technology provided by Israel, including many in Africa and in China, India, Indonesia, Nepal and much of the emerging world. We'd have to boycott many fruit and vegetables enhanced using Israeli technology and the Vietnamese dairy industry (helped by Israeli technology), Georgian crops (saved by Israeli plants and seed technology) and anything Peruvian (assisted by Israeli hydro-electricity). It would also affect Israeli-developed water-saving and sewage treatment technology used across more than half of the planet, which helps make Australia an "effluent society" (as Gough Whitlam once put it).

Disaster relief has employed Israeli resources and technical assistance in the Congo, Angola, Romania, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Haiti, the Chilean mine disaster, the Christchurch earthquake and humanitarian disasters in Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Chad, Sudan and Malawi.

That's OK. We can just ask Bono and Bob Geldof to stage a few more rock concerts.

Finally, if the boycott affected economists with links to Israel through teaching, visiting, honorary degrees or joint research, we would have to stop teaching the textbooks of many Nobel prize-winning economists. Think Samuelson, Fischer, Solow, Friedman, Arrow, Klein, Liebenstein, Kahn, Sraffa, Kaldor, Lerner, Krugman, Feldstein, Kindleberger and many more. It would wipe out most of our human capital in economics and the social sciences in general.

The net result? The boycott would hurt the poor and the sick and undermine food security and the campaign to end world hunger, which would undermine efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the Middle East. At best the boycott is ridiculous; at worst, it is sinister and anti-Semitic (judging by comments made on social media). I am very proud that my employer, UNSW, has said that although it encourages free expression and open debate on campus (that is lawful, respectful and responsible), it deplores all forms of racism and anti-Semitism. We must ensure university campuses remain tolerant, safe, diverse and respectful in the true Australian democratic tradition.

Netanyahu's back to freezing jewish building, in the interests of peace?

Israel's enemies are fixated on preventing building in the ancient jewish homelands of Judea and Samaria, as if that were to stop, all problems in the middle east would be solved.

Even Israel's President Peres seems to subscribe to the view that if Israel could make peace with its genocidal neighbours, the so-called 'palestinians' then all problems would be solved.
"Peace can bring balance and stability back to the Middle East."

If Peres's has been hoodwinked by arab and eruopean sweet talk, then it is hard to blame the average jew in London or New York from not understanding the issues.

Israel's enemies such as Obama and sidekick Kerry along with best buddies Abbas, Fayad and Erdogan have one strategic aim in mind, to shrink Israel's borders back to the indefensible 1948 armistice lines. If they can achieve that, the scene will be set for Israel's demise. The rest of the region's problems can go hang, but if Israel can be defeated it will all be worthwhile. This crazed mentality that possessed the nazis, that of dealing with the jews at all costs is mirrored by the arabs. This for all his bluster and shows of arming Israel (nothing to the sheer quantities of arms being delivered by the USA to Israel's foes, $60 worth signed to Saudia Arabia in the last year alone) where Obama's sympathies lie.

But the hand of God seems to be at work because Israel came within an ace of giving the Golan to Syria and Jerusalem along with the rest of Judea and Samaria to the arabs in the last decade alone. Only arab intransigence forestalled that. How utterly stupid of them. It really is hard to understand why they rejected such offers on the flimsiest pretexts. Whether it is God, the intensity of the hatred which can not bring arabs to make peace with Israel, or whether arab leaders are simply afraid for the consequences from their own people, arabs always seem to pull Israel's chestnuts out of the fire, by their sheer hatred and extremism.

My advice to arab leaders is to accept any Israeli peace plan. Take what you can when you can, because you know that the next leader who deposes you will tear up any peace treaty. The jihad can then be waged that much closer to Israel's heartlands. That is the logic, and arabs follow that logic in their negotiations with Israel and western nations, but in the end, they can not bring themselves even to that.

You might mention the peace with Egypt and Jordan. What a peace, where the Muslim Brotherhood president Morsy keeps threatening to end the peace, where he has allowed jihadists to fire missiles at Israel from the safety of the Sinai desert? The reason the peace is holding now is because on one hand Israel has put the fear of God into Hamas, and on the other, Egypt which is in economic crisis is at loggerheads with Hamas for causing trouble within Egypt. Even the so-called 'moderate' Jordanians are not at peace with Israel, but are in terror of the prospect of going to war with it. Jordan wages a constant diplomatic war against Israel throughout world forums.

As with europe until the german people had their aggression smashed out of them through British and American carpet bombing, through Russian and allied slaughter of german soldiers, the arabs will accept a real peace not through signing pieces of paper, but only after they undergo a similar process.A lasting peace in the middle east will only come when as with Sadat after 1973, the terror of war is 'in their bones.' The Islamic Civil War now underway if it gets intense enough will bring about peace where no amount of signed peace treaties with arabs will.

But for the present we should imagine the jihadists now being able to look down on Haifa, Tsefat and Tiberias from the Golan heights. That is what Barak would have achieved for Israel.
We need to say the ‘Hagomel’ blessing (Ooops:- Jews recite this when they have narrowly escaped death) every day for not being talked into the agreement with Syria with Erdogan’s mediation,” Dayan added. Hagomel is the blessing recited after an escape from danger.

Israel should prepare itself in multiple ways, he said: by strengthening its defenses on the northern border, improving IDF preparedness for a counter-terror operation, strengthening Israeli settlement in the Golan and improving relations with Druze residents of the Golan.

And Olmert's legacy would have been the Western Wall once again in arab hands. Israel would have been nicely prepared by its leaders to again fight for its life from borders in places only 12km wide. Why are Israel's leaders so gullible?

In this game of freezing and unfreezing jewish building in Judea and Samaria there needs to be countervailing democratic force applied. Netanyahu needs to have his back stiffened so that he is forced to turn round to our enemies and say, sorry, "it's just not possible, the government will fall apart." And fall apart it should if the one place in the world jews are not allowed to build houses are in Judea and Samaria, in Shilo and Shechem, in Hebron and Susiya. Of course neither Obama or his friends mention the wildcat building of arabs in Israel's Negev or elsewhere in Israel. Arabs and their friends have always tried to stop jewish building in Israel. They failed then, as they will fail now.

Of course, once the great slaughter now underway in Syria and Iraq and which will possibly expand throughout the arab world is forgotten, arabs will very possibly once again return to their old ways, to threaten the destruction of Israel. But as Israel gains strength from year to year, and increases in population, its enemies will not be able to take comfort in this.

Nice bonfire in Damascus, now park up the F16's, brew the tea and leave the arabs to sort out their problems as before, in their own inimitable style

Ban Ki Moon, head of the organization of arab and islamic tyrants (and other assorted despots) otherwise known as the UN has condemned Israel. What a surprise.

How dare Israel go into the hyena's den and smash his teeth.  Israel should always wait for the UN to solve things peaceably as it did in Rwanda, Srebrenica, Darfur and now in South Kordofan.

Israel maintains its dignity, and its silence. Let the wolves howl, let the Syrian rebels unite with the Assad regime in talking of the jewish foe, of attacks by “external occupying forces” . Let them curse in frustration, and know that Israel will not wait for its enemies to come knocking, but will search them out and frustrate their plans in Israel's own time, on their own territory.

Israel seeks no war, no bloodshed, but by creating such a maelstrom in Damascus (the amount of munitions stored in the syrian army dumps is mind boggling. There is no way that 8 warplanes can deliver the amount of ordinance needed for a tiny fraction of that fireworks party) Israel has struck a very strong deterrent posture. Arabs will be impressed. And when arabs are impressed, they will normally look, as with the school bully, for an easier target.

Netanyahu has shown that Israel can keep its nerve in the face of the threats now being levelled at it. After delivering a pasting that Assad will not soon forget, Netanyahu took off for China. That sends one strong message to Israel's enemies, saying in effect, "I think so little of you that i'm off to trot." Netanyahu could not have acted better. But then, Netanyahu now has Moshe Ya'alon at the controls of the IDF, not the effete Ehud Barak, a man who went out of his way to understand, even justify the terrible atrocities committed by palestinian arab bombers against innocent israeli civilians.

Assad will hopefully now wish to cease attempting to reinforce Hezbollah with his most modern munitions and thus avoid further Israeli interventions. But that is a somewhat forlorn possibility as Assad is joined hip and thigh with Hezbollah and Iran. Assad is no longer an independent actor, if he ever was so until Assad finally goes (hopefully not too soon) Israel must expect further provocations, attempts to test the 'red line.'

Israel is now on high alert, has been for the last few days when a surprise exercise of ground troops was called in the north (now we know the reason, the troops are there so that Assad and Hezbollah don't get any ideas about how as arabs they have been 'humiliated' and in need of a little revenge).

As long as Israel's enemies don't talk themselves into doing anything foolhardy (difficult at the best of times for arab leaders who let their tongues wag their bodies), Israel must once again try and sink into the background, its red lines from now on being well understood by its enemies.

This is in contrast to Obama's chemical weapons red line fiasco. When Assad broke it by using chemical weapons, Obama shrank from acting. US credibility having been low for a while is now bumping along the bottom not just in the middle east, but in the world as a whole. From the Green revolution in Iran to Benghazi Obama has shown the USA as a broken reed (And of course China is watching, learning, and aggressing against its neighbours, sure in itself and in this US administration's reaction to its provocations).

Of course the USA is a mighty nation, one that has proved itself time and again, so just as soon as the american people shake themselves out of their stupor and elect a real leader, the world will sit up and take note. Okay, that will take a little while, but Israel can hold on, and some.

The shia and the sunni must be allowed to get on with their beloved business of showing each other just how right their lethal interpretation of islam is. My feeling is that they are both right. Islam is indeed a cruel, intolerant, crusading and imperial religion, the fruit of a poisonous and anything but 'holy' text.

Muslims will in a week or two's time have necessarily forgotten Israel, and it will remain forgotten until the next time islamist arabs try to test Israel's red lines.

My belief is that nothing has changed. The struggle will be brutal, and slow and very bloody, even with the West supporting the rebels, and maybe because of it. Absent this support the sunnis might have lost under the total commitment that Iran and Hezbollah are giving to this cause.

Neither side can afford to lose, not the alawites who stand to be slaughtered should they fail to create their redoubt, not Hezbollah who might find their whole community in Lebanon slaughtered by the sunni victors in Syria and their allies in Lebanon, should they fail to keep the lines of communication open to Teheran. The shia in Lebanon are beginning to feel very lonely and unloved.

So ironically the intensified efforts at shipping missiles to Hezbollah are all about Assad's building a defensive line of fortifications rather than any real intention to use those ground to ground missiles against Israel.
But Israel is not interested in allowing Hezbollah to build that impregnable shia-alawite redoubt, buttressed by game changing weaponry, directed at Israel or not (in the first instance). Hezbollah is the black mamba of snakes, unpredictable, agile and very deadly. You can't keep that sort of pet out in the open, confined or at all. The problem is that as well as the shia black mamba, we have the sunni fer-de-lance.

Israel's interest is in having the alawaites and Hezbollah isolated from each other as much as possible so as to break the direct line of supply through Iraq to Iran. Netanyahu is acting with great strategic skill and foresight here, only intervening when absolutely necessary in a war that Israel otherwise has no interest in taking part in.

For Israel the best outcome is one whereby these two snakes live together in the same pit and unable to unite with others of their species. The snakes will just as happily bite us as each other so it is not in our interest to feed them unless one is failing so badly that the other might become strong enough to devour the other.

So arabs will slaughter each other and weaken themselves so much that they will at some time in the not too distant future learn a holy terror, not the terror they have enjoyed making and inflicting on others until now, but the terrible fear of war close by in their own neighbourhood, affecting themselves and their families for months or even years on end. No matter how much they 'love death as we love life', the gnawing and unending fear can not but eventually have results.

Like the nazis arabs still hold to their koranic racist and imperial beliefs, ideas which extoll the virtues of armed conflict, murder and looting of one's enemy.

But should this conflict go on for long enough, even arabs will learn that war is not glorious, that nobody wins from war, that death and destruction is terrible, and is sought out only by fools, and evil people inspired by equally evil books, promoted by charlatans who wish for others to pay a bloody price.

This war will go on , supported on the one side by Iran and Iraq and their allies, and the sunni states on the other. It will go on and on until the lesson is learned, until there has been so much death, destruction and misery that as with the nazis, the glory of war is all gone, leaving only the terrible memories of the survivors.

Israel must not listen to those like general Ashkenazi who would have Israel take sides with one enemy against another. The enemy of my enemy in the middle east is not my friend. He will not thank you beyond today's battle. Tomorrow or even late this evening, he will be at your throat.

Israel must now pull back into its shell, doing no more than looking sullenly over the ramparts at its enemies. They'll understand.

Obama, Kerry and their arab friends can salivate over a truncated Israel ripe for destruction, but the future looks different

Netanyahu has a hard time juggling all the different balls in play, of keeping his eye on Israel's enemies, on Lebanon, on Iran, on Egypt, and on Gaza and Judea and Samaria, just to name the most immediate threats to Israel's security.

Netanyahu has also had a number of jousting sessions with that other enemy of Israel, its avowed 'friend' Obama and his various side-kicks. Kerry's new 'peace' initiative is of course anything but that, just another attempt by Obama to revive his failed attempt of a couple of years ago, to push Israel back into indefensible 'borders', i.e. the armistice lines of 1948.

It's interesting to see that Hamas has totally rejected this plan. Hamas finds it hard to even play the double speak that Abbas and his Fatah boys find so rewarding:
GAZA, (PIC)-- Political analyst Dr. Naji Batta said that Hamas movement had unequivocally rejected the Arab initiative, and said that "it does not meet the minimum rights of the Palestinian people."

Batta told PIC on Saturday that the Arab initiative and the idea of land swaps crossed red lines and pointed to more concessions.

"The Arab initiative is originally rejected, because Palestine is not for sale or rent," the political analyst said, stressing that no one has the right to give up any part of the land of Palestine.
The "minimum rights of the Palestinian people" just so happen to mean the destruction of Israel.

One thing we can be pretty sure of, is that no matter what plans the enemies of the Jewish People cook up, they will sooner or later be frustrated.

And just to avoid any doubt about Hamas' intentions:
"Our borders are the historic land of Palestine. The land belongs to us, and we refuse the Arab initiative," Haniyeh said.

He stressed that the new Arab position that supports the exchange of land represents an unacceptable waiver and encourages the occupation to continue the settlement activity.

Gaza Premier called on the Palestinian people to adhere to the option of resistance as it represents the strategic choice.

"What was taken by force can only be restored by force. Negotiations can never be the way towards the liberalization," he said.

Of course a " historic land of Palestine" never existed, unless Hamas is talking not of Israel, but of Mandatory Palestine from 1917-1948. This included Transjordan as it was known after Britain created it in 1921. Arabs however they describe themselves  are welcome to Jordan, unless they attack Israel again from there, so maybe there will be some room for compromise over that land, at a future date.

With Israel's growing population safe borders might mean not just keeping all its ancestral lands, but, should arabs again make war on Israel, mean taking more defensible high ground that belonged to the jewish people in bible times on the east bank of the Jordan and north of Rosh Haniqra. This is the message that Netanyahu needs to give Obama and its other enemies. Just as with Russia of 2008, if you attack us, we will not shrink our borders, but expand them. Germany, Hungary and Roumania understood this after 1945, just as Armenia mercilessly drove its enemies from its borders in 1991.

As with the Gaza retreat which brought only arab attacks, so with Egypt. There was no need to give the Sinai to Egypt. The Sinai never belonged to Egypt before the British came along and annexed it to British occupied Egypt at the turn of the 20th century. Britain confiscated it from Turkey so as to defend its own occupation of the Suez Canal, the lifeline defending the route to India, the so-called 'Jewel in the Crown'.

In 1973 Israel had two egyptian armies at its mercy. Thanks to US pressure it fed them rather than destroy them. People say that the Peace Treaty with Egypt has kept the peace for 30 years, but this is untrue. Israel's might, and Sadat and Mubarak's fear of a new war kept the peace. The Muslim Brotherhood is a new gang in town, and is not frustrated in its wishes to wage war on Israel by the peace treaty which Morsy has on a number of occasions indicated, means nothing to  him. Egypt can not make war because of the turmoil in the arab world mixed with the dire state of Egypt's finances. Israel should however of course still keep a close eye on Egypt.

Arabs should know that time is on Israel's side, that if they don't want peace, but just wish to wage war not only amongst themselves, but against Israel whenever they feel strong enough, they must take into account the possibility that they will find themselves territorially even further away from  achieving their objectives.

If Israel has in the past talked about 'Land for Peace', rejected every time by arabs, in 2001 under Barak and lastly in 2008 under Olmert, Israel's enemies should be told in no uncertain terms that 'Land in exchange for Aggression and War' is also an option in future.

The message should be, 'continue to make war on Israel and you will lose more land'. Thankfully such a scenario of another 1973 style attack on Israel is a thing of the mid to distant future. Arabs are too much involved in massacring themselves at the moment to think too much about the jews, that is except Hamas, and even they understand the new rules of the game. Hamas is talking tough, but reigning in the kassam missile firings.

General Ashkenzi was an excellent if unoriginal general, but strategic thinker he isn't

Gabi Ashkenazi is the latest man from the military to wish Israel to jump into the syrian morass with both flat feet. This is surprising because although he's not the most intelligent warrrior Israel has ever had, he does understand the limits of Israel's power. Indeed, Ashkenazi was set against reoccupying Gaza and  in attacking Iran. Thanks to his opposition, Iran is becoming a harder nut to crack by the day, possibly having moved beyond Israel's capacity to deal with it with conventional weapons (yes, with Iran Israel must think the unthinkable, at least as far as an EMP weapon is concerned, and sooner rather than later when Iran has hardened the targets against such an attack).

Generals who are humanitarians are a suspect species, either because they are hypocrites, or because what they inculcated to those they commanded was dangerous to their survivability on the battlefield. Israeli troops have lawyers attached to each company nowadays thanks to the efforts of people like Ashkenazi, something that shackles Israel's soldiers hands and feet, just as British and American soldiers have found in Afghanistan. When you fight a war, you need to allow your troops flexibility without having to look over their shoulders every second. The USA and Britain have lost the war in Afghanistan and whilst teharat haneshek is indeed important, it must sometimes be recognised as being impossible to achieve. In 1967 israeli tank commanders were ordered not to fire at houses, from which fire was being directed at them. The tanks treated their orders with the contempt deserved, demolished the buildings from where fire came, and managed to survive, against all odds.

Ashkenazi should forget playing the humanitarian when considering that both sides in Syria have declared Israel to be next on the list once they have won. He should instead read this imagined conversation between the wily Cardinal Richelieu and David Goldman aka 'spengler':
“We are a bit confused about Syria,” I began. “Its leader, Bashar al-Assad, is slaughtering his own people to suppress an uprising. And he is allied to Iran, which wants to acquire nuclear weapons and dominate the region. If we overthrow Assad, Sunni radicals will replace him, and take revenge on the Syrian minorities. And a radical Sunni government in Syria would ally itself with the Sunni minority next door in Iraq and make civil war more likely.”
“I don’t understand the question,” Richelieu replied.
“Everyone is killing each other in Syria and some other places in the region, and the conflict might spread. What should we do about it?”
“How much does this cost you?”
“Nothing at all,” I answered.
“Then let them kill each other as long as possible, which is to say for 30 years or so. Do you know,” the ghastly Cardinal continued, “why really interesting wars last for 30 years? That has been true from the Peloponnesian War to my own century. First you kill the fathers, then you kill their sons. There aren’t usually enough men left for a third iteration.”
It is sad to see human life wasted, but as with the germans after World War I, who needed great destruction, of 4 million dead, of a whole generation without fathers, to have imperialism and murder driven out of them. Germans are now the world's greatest pacifists.

Arabs have never learned the lesson of war. They glorify it, especially when it comes to the destruction of Israel and its people.

The best Israel can do is to keep its snout out of Syria, to let the cards fall where they will as neither side will thank it for intervention. Let's hope Netanyahu doesn't get side-tracked by well meaning old generals like Ashkenazi.

Former IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi said the world must not remain passive over the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons, and that President Bashar Assad himself must be held responsible.

Doing nothing is not an option,” Ashkenazi said in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that was broadcast on Tuesday.

Ashkenazi added that before any action is taken, the prime culprit must be identified as the Syrian leader.

“We have to be clear that it was his decision,” he said.

The former IDF general suggested a range of action, from upping support for rebel groups to imposing a no-fly zone on parts of Syria. Ashkenazi made it clear that the time has come to arm the rebels, a course of action the US is considering and several European countries already support.

“That means providing them with lethal and not just nonlethal assistance — that means weapons — to help them to topple Assad,” he said.

Ashkenazi lamented that more action was not taken in the past as it would, perhaps, have saved lives in the long run of a civil war that has so far cost over 70,000 lives and generated over a million refugees.

“We should have helped them a year ago when there were [only] 10,000 deaths and before the more extremists groups arrived,” he said.

Ashkenazi, who was the IDF’s top officer from 2007 to 2011, said the inevitable downfall of Assad would be a mixed blessing for Israel.

“I think generally speaking from a strategic point of view it is good news,” he said. “It will break the radical axis that runs through Iran and Damascus to Hezbollah and Hamas. It will be a major blow to Iran and Hezbollah.”

“Syria was and still is the logistics hub of Hezbollah,” he added and noted that while funding for the terror group may come from Iran, “the weapons come out of Syrian depots.”

As for growing concerns that the rebel cause in Syria has become a rallying point for a wide range of extremists groups, including those affiliated with al-Qaeda, that are drawing ever closer to the border with Israel, Ashkenazi expressed confidence in Israel’s security capabilities to deal with cross-border threats.

“From an Israeli perspective I think we can deal with it,” he said.

Ashkenazi also gave a guarded response to questions about media reports that in 2010 he refused a request by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to raise the IDF’s war readiness in preparation for an attack on Iran. The incident was seen as an indication that the security establishment does not back Netanyahu’s bold threats that Israel is prepared to go it alone in a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“That is factually wrong,” Asheknazi said but would not expand on exactly what transpired at the time, saying only that it was a matter of timing and that, in his opinion, the military option is the last option.

“Unless the sword is against your throat you don’t use it,” he said.

Ashkenazi commented on recent efforts to improve ties with Turkey that became frigid, if not hostile, after IDF commandos stormed the Gaza-bound Mava Marmara ferry and shot dead nine Turkish citizens when they came under violent attack from those on board. Turkey made normalization with Israel dependent on an apology and compensation for the deaths, but the families of those who died have also begun legal proceedings against the soldiers involved. As the then commander of the IDF, Ashkenazi is also on trial in absentia.

“It is important to fix the relationship with Turkey,” he said, adding in reference to the indictments that “it comes with the job of being a general in the IDF.”

Yet, despite the regional threats, Ashkenazi said that Israel’s most pressing problem is that of its own internal divisions.

“I would like the internal dialogue to be back the way it was 30 years ago,” he said.
